Knit-Worthy
Have you made your Knit-Worthy list yet? With only ten weeks until #YOUKNOWWHAT, you need to get crackin' with those needles and hooks to make it happen! We promise to make it a little easier for you by sharing some fun, fast and easy projects right here each week. Ready? Set. Go!
Knit-Worthy: Mitts & Shawls
Little Shells Fingerless Gloves is a simple lace pattern that is worked up in a worsted or Aran weight yarn. We used the oh-so-soft Select Merino from Plymouth. With only 98 yards required per pair, you'll be able to make two pairs from just one skein! We stock over 30 colors so we're betting you'll find just the right color for everyone on that knit-worthy list!
Susie Rogers' Reading Mitts It's no secret that we are smitten with this pattern -- it happens to be part of our most recent Yearlong Knitalong! Wear them when knitting outdoors or in on a chilly day, or just layer them over your leather gloves when the temperature really drops (in the South, that "drop" is defined as 40 degrees!). We used Tenzing from Juniper Moom Farms, a blend of Merino wool and Yak! Make a pair as a gift, and make one for yourself! You're knit-worthy, right?
The Gallatin Scarf works up quickly! Knit with worsted weight yarn and US 10.5 needles, this one is sure to fly off your needles. A simple repeat, the pattern is easy to commit to memory and becomes fairly mindless -- it's great car-knitting (uh, but not if you're the driver). Our sample is knit from just ONE skein of Dream in Color Classy with Cashmere. The smooth, plied base, combined with Dream in Color's unique dyeing process, gives Classy with Cashmere its deep and lushly-shaded tones. We unpacked a huge box late last week so there are plenty of gorgeous colors to choose from!
The Herald Shawl is another one that will, yes, fly off your needles! Herald is a simple, gorgeous shawl with bias construction, garter and eyelets. Beginning with just one stitch, Herald is worked diagonally with increases on one side, decreases on the other. The result is a slightly asymmetrical shape that is easy to knit and fun to wear. Our sample, knit from ONE skein of Smooshy with Cashmere from Dream in Color is just absolute opulence in a skein and -- with 20% cashmere -- this yarn is divinely next-to-skin soft!
Brooklyn Tweed Wool People 10 Trunk Show
One week only! We're lucky enough to have Brooklyn Tweed's Wool People 10 traveling trunk show on display all this week. We've been drooling over several of these patterns since the release date and are just beside ourselves now that we can finally lay hands on the samples. If you're in the area, you can too! Stop by to see this collection for yourself -- we have twelve of the fifteen designs in the collection on display!
