Yearlong Knitalong: December!

Join us today - Monday, December 3rd - from 11:00 am until noon for December's installment of the Haus of Yarn Yearlong Knitalong; we'll be working on Ferryboat Mitts! We love these simple ribbed mitts on men and women alike, so they're the perfect project for some quick, holiday gift-knitting! Did you participate in last year's Yearlong Knitalong? Do you remember knitting the Pressed Rib Cap & Muffler? Well, these mitts are a perfect way to complete the set!

Yarn Suggestions: Ultra Alpaca from Berroco, Weepaca from Big Bad Wool; Shelter from Brooklyn Tweed. You'll need between 125 -210 yards, depending on chosen size and length.

The sample shown uses one skein of Ultra Alpaca in color 6211, Duncan.

For those of you working on (or wanting to start!) a block from our Afghan Block-a -Month Book, we'll be meeting at 1:00 pm today -- Monday, December 3rd!

Brooklyn Tweed Trunk Show!

From now through December 16th, we're hosting a beautiful Brooklyn Tweed trunk show...this one's made up of gorgeous accessories! Stop by the shop to see the collection firsthand - and we've got loads of Brooklyn Tweed yarn in stock, so you can start knitting ASAP! There are thirteen samples at which to make heart eyes! Pictured, a few of our favorites:

     • The Shackleton scarf, knit in Shelter, held double. Requires 10 skeins

     • Knoll mitts, knit in Loft, held double. Requires 1 skein (uses almost an entire skein; you may wish to purchase an additional skein to account for slight variance in yardage use)

     • The Thicket hat, knit in Shelter. Requires 2 skeins

Simple & QUICK!

Hanukkah is here already and Christmas is just weeks away, but you still have time for a fun, fast & easy handmade holiday! This super cute hat is knit from just ONE skein of Ushya from Mirasol. Using big ol' US sized 13 & 15 needles, this project practically comes together before you can watch more than two Hallmark Christmas movies!

Ushya is unbelievably lightweight, soft, and warm; the yarn is chain-plied and is perfect for on-trend bulky accessories without too much added weight. We love the maker of this yarn; Peruvian-made Mirasol benefits The Mirasol Project, which strives to better the lives of Peruvian shepherds through building and supporting schools.
