Small Business Saturday!
One of the great things about the idea of Small Business Saturday is that it doesn't exist to just remind you about the value of shopping "small" -- it allows us to show you that we do it too...year-round!
We work with lots of various companies, almost all of whom are small and independently-owned. So when you shop with us, you aren't just supporting the people who work within our four walls; your support reaches out to all of those companies from whom we buy, and a lot of them are local! In one room alone at Haus, you'll find items from Black Cat Bags, Old Rusted Chair, Modus Operandi, Thistle Farms, Colt's Chocolates, Camellia Fiber Co, Nutmeg Fibers, Fringe Supply Co and Nobi Handcrafted Candles -- all of which are made locally, which is about as "small business" as you can get! And there are dozens more!
On the non-local front, one of our longest working relationships is with Plymouth Yarn, a family-owned business since 1964 (!!!), and they're sponsoring a pretty awesome promotion to support us on Small Business Saturday. Spend $50 (pre-tax) on any combination of products from Plymouth, and you'll get $10 off of your purchase! The coupon only works on Saturday the 30th, so put us on your Saturday-to-do list!! We've knit up soooo many samples using Plymouth over the years -- there's loads of inspiration!
YEARLONG KNITALONG - DECEMBER!
Join us next Monday, December 2nd, from 11-noon or next Saturday, December 7th from 11-noon for December's installment of the 2020 Haus of Yarn Yearlong Knitalong!
We've always selected quick, gift-worthy projects for the months of November and December and keeping that in mind, we've selected the cutest pair of stranded color work mitts for December's project! Mary Jane Mucklestone's Muckle Mitts are quick, use minimal amounts of yarn and are beginner-friendly if you've ever wanted to give stranded knitting a try! Select two colors of Brooklyn Tweed's Arbor and join us! Bonus: after you've made your first pair, switch up the main and contrast colors and make a second pair using the leftover yarn!
If you’re working on the Afghan Block-a-Month Knitalong, we'll meet at 1pm on those same Mondays and Saturdays! We'll be working from the trusty Haus of Yarn Block-a-Month Afghan Knit-A-Long book, written by our fearless founder Carolyn Smith. With 48 blocks to choose from, you have a lot of leeway to make exactly the afghan you want!
