Two Yarns, a Shawl and a Cute Hoodie!

The Starboard Shawl - unlike many shawl patterns - is knit from the widest point, working decreases from the widest edge to the tip. We like it because your rows get faster as you work! We combined two fantastic super-soft cotton yarns: Cotton Supreme Batik (a self-shading worsted weight cotton), and Pima 100 in a coordinating solid color. This 100% Pima cotton has a nice, tight twist that highlights the stitch definition in Starboard's gorgeous mesh detailing. We've got loads of color combinations to choose from; we're only showing a few of our faves here. There are 20 different colors of Batik Supreme and 30 different colors of Pima 100 to select from...opt for one of our combo suggestions or create your own! Shop Cotton Supreme here and Pima 100 here!

*Our sample is worked in Batik #41, Navy Salute (you'll need three skeins)  and Pima 100 in #8463, Iris (you'll need one skein). The pattern is available on Ravelry, right here!

We've got another Cotton Supreme Batik project on our minds as well: the sweet little Jump for Joy hoodie from Universal Yarn is a perennial shop favorite. This one has great potential as a project for wee ones of almost any age since it's sized from newborn to age 8. Knit in pieces and seamed, we've worked it up here in beyond soft (and washable) Cotton Supreme Batik, and the yarn does all that fancy color-switching for you!

* Sample shown is worked in Batik #36 Jumping Jacks. Both newborn and 6-12 month sizes require two skeins. 18-24 mo, 4 yr and 6 yr sizes require three skeins and the 8 yr size requires four skeins. The pattern is free and you can find it here!
