Afghan Book

We wrote a book! If you've stopped by the store recently, you may have noticed a recent edition to our bookshelf - the Haus of Yarn Block-A-Month Afghan Knit-A-Long! We are just so pleased to have our collection of patterns all in one big, beautiful book.

Afghan

For the past 3 years we've been getting together on the first Monday of every month, learning new techniques and having fun with an awesome group of ladies. The class is taught by Carolyn and Shayron, whose years of knitting expertise have guided many beginner and advanced knitters through completion of an afghan!

The class has been so popular that we even added an evening session on the first Thursday of the month, taught by Christina and Kendall!

Afghan 2

The book is a collection of 48 afghan blocks. The afghans are knit in 3 strips of 4 blocks each, so finishing is just two seams! We have arranged the book into groups of 12 blocks - each group corresponding to the year it was originally presented in the knit-a-long. We even included a whole years worth of "Easy" patterns that are brand new!

Afghan 3

The Block-A-Month Afghan Knit-A-Long is ongoing. You can join in the fun any time! The class meets the first Monday of every month (but check the schedule in case of holiday closures) from 11:00 am until Noon, and the first Thursday of each month from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

The Thursday evening session is following the Year One group of patterns. The Monday morning session is design your own afghan. We are here to help you with the design process, so come and join!

A Note from Christina, Organizer of Threads of Kindness:

Hello everyone...I'd like to invite you to join a group that is very near to my heart as I know it is for many of you.  We are working to provide hospice patients in middle Tennessee with a blanket or shawl for a little comfort at a time when they may most need it and preemie blankets and hats to many of the Nashville's Neo-Natal units.  If you think this giving opportunity may be right for you, please reach out to us.  We are fortunate to have generous yarn donations from Haus of Yarn helping us along our way and would love to share our stash with you.
