Drop Ins

Knitting 101: Just the Basics
About This Class
Just the Basics (101) is a two-session beginner's class that will teach you both knit and purl stitches...all while creating a scarf!
Classes are designed for ages 12 and up.

Cast-on, knit, purl.
Materials Required
All materials must be purchased from Haus of Yarn. US8 24" circular needle; US8 double-point needles; tapestry needle, T-pins, 200 yards worsted weight yarn in a light, solid color.

$55 for two one-and-a-half-hour sessions with Alison.

Knitting 102: Beyond the Basics
About This Class
Beyond the Basics (102) is a three-session class during which you'll expand on your knowledge of the knit and purl stitches and learn how to cast on, bind off, yarn over, I-cord and seam as you make a groovy lil' adjustable hat.
Experience Required
Prior knowledge of the knit and purl stitches.
Techniques Learned
Introduction to gauge, increases, decreases, finishing techniques, correcting common mistakes.
Materials Required
All materials must be purchased from Haus of Yarn. US8 24" circular needle; US8 double-point needles; tapestry needle, T-pins, 200 yards worsted weight yarn in a light, solid color.

Socks on Two Circs
About This Class
Beginning Socks on Two Circs class!

All materials must be purchased from Haus of Yarn: two skeins Deluxe Stripes, two 16" or two 24" US 5 needles, darning needle, and you'll need to pre-purchase and print the Boot Camp Sock pattern from Ravelry

Knit Your First Sweater!
About This Class
Choose the sweater that appeals to you the most, then sign up for the class dates that match up with it! Both are top-down, seamless and beginner friendly, so choose the one that fits your own aesthetic!
Experience Required
While both projects are beginner friendly, definitely be comfortable with casting on, knitting and purling.

Construction, pattern reading, understanding gauge, etc.
Materials Required
For Novice: Knitting for Olive's Heavy Merino and Soft Silk Mohair
For Kelowna: Loopy Mango's Mohair So Soft
Plus the usual: appropriate needles, notions and whichever pattern you're making: Novice or Kelowna

Crochet 101 (Beginning Crochet)
About This Class
In this class, you'll be introduced to how to tension your yarn, the chain stitch, the single crochet stitch, double crochet, half double crochet, and triple crochet stitches.
Classes are designed for ages 12 and up.

Learn to Brioche: BrioCherry
About This Class
Learn the ins and outs of (and take all of the fear out of learning to) brioche! Kendall removes the intimidation factor that seems to accompany learning brioche and you'll end up with an absolutely show-stopping BrioCherry hat!
Experience Required
You'll need to already know the long tail cast on, K and P stitches, YOs, K2Togs, SSKs and working in the round. You'll also need to be comfortable "tink"ing (stitch-by-stich un-knitting).
Techniques Learned
German twisted cast on, brioche knits and purls, brioche increases and decreases, and using a lifeline.
Materials Required
All materials must be purchased from Haus of Yarn. Two contrasting DK yarns*, 16" US4 circular needle, US4 DPNs, darning needle, point protectors, the BrioCherry pattern (purchased and printed in advance), and stitch markers.
*Ultra Alpaca Light, Rambouillet and Felted Tweed all work great

Fiesta Crochetalong
About This Class
With the guidance of Kendall, you'll make a colorful blast of a blanket using the mosaic crochet technique
Experience Required
Intermediate skills; please be comfortable with both single and double crochet, as well as working in the round

Materials Required
You can use any yarn you like; this pattern requires a minimum of 2 colors. Use a hook that best suits your yarn.
