If you missed Meet Me at the Ryman's debut at Stitches South (or on The Yarn Bus!), we've got a gorgeous model at the shop right now, knitted from three skeins of Geilsk, a cotton/wool blend available in a wide array of colors. This shawl was designed by our very own Mama Jo, a frequent shop model knitter and even more frequent guest star on The Yarn Bus. The pattern is inspired by the historic architecture of Nashville's Ryman Auditorium and has been a huge hit with everyone who's seen it. We couldn't be more pleased to call Jo one of our own and look forward to many more designs from her!
Herald, a brand-new shawl pattern from one of our favorite designers, Janina Kallio, is a perfect one-skein fingering weight project. We knit ours in Dream in Color's Smooshy with Cashmere. This is an incredibly soft yarn, but it's also very durable, making it perfect for this open, airy lacework shawl...as well as socks. We have nine opulent colors, so come grab your favorite and indulge!
Save the Date!
World Wide Knit in Public Day is coming up on June 13! This is the largest knitter-run event in the world and has been going on since 2005 with the sole goal of having knitters come together in public and enjoy each other's company. Our event will be held on the porch at our store Saturday, June 13, from 11am until 4pm. We'll be serving lemonade and cookies, so bringing your knitting -- and a chair! -- is all you have to do! Join us!
Malabrigo! Malabrigo! Malabrigo!
We received a massive shipment from Malabrigo containing restocks of Arroyo, Mecha, Mechita, Malabrigo Sock, Rios and Rasta. As you can see from the photos, there is a veritable rainbow of colors to choose from. If you're planning a sweater, now would be the time to come make your selection...as sweater quantities are definitely on hand!
