Frabjous Fibers Messenger Shawl

This Week's Inspiration!

This week we received a shipment from Frabjous Fibers...including kits for this beautiful Messenger Shawl!  Each kit contains one full-size skein of “Mad Hatter” and two mini-skeins of a contrasting color. Mad Hatter is a light and next-to-skin-soft 100% Superwash Merino yarn that is spun & hand dyed in the U.S. The shawl is worked on the bias with a unique asymmetrical shape and mesh striping. The easy-to-follow pattern is included with the kit.

Opera Capelet Opera Capelet 2

New pattern: Opera Capelet

Our own Bobbe has designed this elegant Opera Capelet for us. It's knit horizontally, then seamed along the side. We're showing it here knit in Opera (a worsted weight cotton blend with a generous sprinkling of small sequins) and Allegro Unito, a fascinating, shimmery blend of viscose & cotton. This worsted weight, chainette-constructed yarn alternates in texture from shiny to more matte, creating fabric with interesting visual texture.

It's not too late to Knit Along ...still with prizes!

Join us for a Knit Along!   The rules are simple:

  • if you haven't yet, please join our Ravelry group
  • knit any shawl by designer Janina Kallio using yarn purchased from Haus of Yarn
  • post a finished photo in our Ravelry group by August 2nd

On August 3rd, we will select one name from a random drawing.  The winner will win a skein of yarn, pattern & project bag!

Happy Knitting!

A Note from Christina, Organizer of Threads of Kindness:

Hello everyone...I'd like to invite you to join a group that is very near to my heart as I know it is for many of you.  We are working to provide hospice patients in middle Tennessee with a blanket or shawl for a little comfort at a time when they may most need it and preemie blankets and hats to many of the Nashville's Neo-Natal units.  If you think this giving opportunity may be right for you, please reach out to us.  We are fortunate to have generous yarn donations from Haus of Yarn helping us along our way and would love to share our stash with you.
