New Erika Knight Collection!
We feel incredibly lucky to have in the shop right now these samples from the new Erika Knight pattern collection, all the way from Great Britain! We'll have these in the shop for the next month and then we'll have to send them off to their next stop stateside.
Junior Colour Knits is Erika Knight's new collection of kids knits using her wonderful range of yarns including British Blue Wool and Fur Wool. It's a fun collection of sweaters, jackets, pinafores, vests, hats, leggings and even a little "scrap bandit" toy ... all knitted in simple stitches using various color techniques, including striping, stranded and Swiss embroidery.
The patterns included in Junior Colour Knits are designed to fit babies and children from 3 months to 5 years. There is something for every ability of knitter, from the beginner all the way to the more experienced knitter. The book itself is presented in a very different sort of format, with photography by actual moms and dads of real kids showing just how best to wear these beautiful hand knits!
Because this collection of patterns is so new, the patterns themselves are not yet available online. So stop by the shop and pick up the book!
Pinafore Dress. Simply styled, knitted in stockinette stitch with garter stitch hem and trims with integral shaping to give a lovely fit and a little flare. Make it in a solid color or in a stripe sequence. Sizes range from 3-6 months to 4-5 years.
Leggings and Fur Vest. Cute leggings worked in stockinette stitch with all-important gusset shaping for baby's comfort. Sizes range from 3-6 months to 2-3 years. The vest is knitted simply in garter stitch with big needles and made in natural fur wool. A quick and easy piece to make, this will be a great layering piece over tees. Sizes range from 3-6 months to 4-5 years.
Sweater. Easy-peasy basic sweater knitted with two strands of wool that creates the marled effect. Worked in stockinette stitch all the way so the cuffs and hems will roll to show some texture and with a cozy little funnel neck. Sizes range from 3-6 months to 4-5 years.
Vest. Simple Fair Isle diamond pattern and tipped with contrasting colors. Sizes range from 3-6 months to 4-5 years.
Fur Wool
Erika Knight's Fur Wool is an amazingly innovative knitting wool, bringing all the wonderful properties of wool to a fabulously fluffy creation. Ever wished you could knit something furry and fluffy that was still made out of natural fibers? Your wait is over! Beautifully textured, Fur Wool puts all other fluffy yarn to shame. Grown, shorn and spun in Yorkshire. Pure British Wool/87 yds
British Blue Wool
Wee balls of machine washable 100% British Bluefaced Leicester wool are perfect for babies and anything you want to wear next to your skin. The Bluefaced Leicester sheep breed is known for long fibers that spin into a soft, woolly wool. Erika Knight chose an iconic Yorkshire mill that honors this luscious fiber well. With Erika's lovely, chalky shades, it might be hard to choose just one color — they really do play so well together! Pure British Bluefaced Leicester Wool/60 yds
