The Yearlong Knitalong: March Is Here!
Have you seen our in-store samples of designer Isabell Kraemer's Indigo Frost poncho yet? We were so excited about the first one we finished, we cast on for a second immediately! And then a third...and then a fourth...yup, four! This poncho is worked seamlessly from the top down, with a loose turtleneck and an easy 4-color slipped stitch band on the yoke. Eyelets are worked on the body and it's finished with a 2x1 rib for the bottom edge. We have loads of yarn options for this versatile piece -- we used Classic from Ella Rae (chocolate and robin's egg blue version), Homestead from Plymouth (sweatshirt grey and brick version and black and brick version) and Shelter from Brooklyn Tweed (natural brown and blue version). There are an almost infinite number of combinations ...what will yours be?

This Week's Inspiration: The Loop Shawl
Fresh off our needles, the Loop shawl from designer Caspinka, is a happy, super-fun shawl to knit. It begins at the top and forms a crescent shape, ending with a garter stitch and an i-cord bindoff. Only one color is used at a time; the contrast yarn is carried up the side where it blends into the edge of the shawl. This design is the perfect solution for using a wild, variegated skein of yarn that shows off the beautiful colors without overwhelming the design. Our sample is knit with one skein of Araucania's Huasco DK and two skeins of Malabrigo's Arroyo.
