Fresh off Our Needles! MORE PONCHO!
We received a fresh batch of Alp Natural yarn from Feza yarns and knew we wanted to create a poncho kit with it! Made with silk and cotton, this lightweight texture-changing yarn creates a fabric with lots of depth and texture and absolutely amazing drape. We have three kit color combos to choose from: Navy/Taupe, Turquoise/Brown or Black/Natural. The pattern we improvised for this is quite simple - just knits and purls with a few yarnovers to create the eyelets - and best of all, free with the kit purchase!

Making the Best Yarn Choice with Laura Linneman

Learn how the fiber content and construction of yarn can affect your knitting. Topics covered in class include: making the correct fiber choice for your project, how spinning and plying of the yarn affect your finished product, questions to ask yourself when choosing yarn for a project, and how best to use technology to your advantage when selecting yarn. This is a really educational, fascinating class, and we promise you'll never just pick up a ball from your stash and say "eh, this'll do" again!
Afterthought Heels with Laura Linneman
Saturday, September 17th from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm
Learn how to make toe-up socks using afterthought heels! Techniques learned include: Judy's Magic cast-on, increasing for toes, a waste-yarn version of an afterthought heel, a stretchy bind-off, and how to complete an afterthought heel. Experience required: prior knowledge of casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch and binding off.
September. Let's Face It: It's Christmas
We know it still seems early, but we suspect that knitters are the ones who really know when the holiday season begins. These things don't knit themselves overnight, do they? So we've got a couple of things lined up in September that are sure to help you knock some names off your list.

Ashley Neeley is an indie dyer from Kentucky who specializes in beautiful hand-dyed yarns inspired by movies, television and pop culture. She'll be bringing all sorts of her beautiful yarns including this "Wizard of Oz"/Wicked Witch inspired colorway. Her self-striping yarns usually include a sidekick skein for toes, heels and cuff. Ashley's yarn is a tremendous amount of fun and we cannot wait to see the smiles on your faces when you see it and hear about her inspirations - you'll want to load up your project bags and your DVRs!
Anzula Trunk Show
Tuesday, September 13th, noon until 2pm
Sabrina from Anzula Fibers will be arriving with twenty (!) vintage suitcases loaded full of yarn and a rack of samples for you to see in person and try on! Rarely do you get the opportunity to touch and feel EVERY single yarn base that a company has to offer, so join us on the 13th and do just that!

We love the construction of this piece -- stitched sideways in two easy panels and seamed up the center. Two Harbors is a fun knit and truly flatters every figure. Our sample is knit in Shelter from Brooklyn Tweed, which makes it incredibly light and airy.

Here are the details:
- For every three addi® Rocket fixed circular needles you purchase inside a North American LYS, you will receive one FREE addi® Rocket fixed circular needle of your choice by mail.
- The three addi® Rocket circulars may be obtained at different times and through different brick and mortar shops (online purchases excluded), but must be purchased between June 15th, 2016 and November 15th, 2016 to qualify. All requests need to be postmarked by November 30th, 2016.
- The original, shop-generated sales receipt/s clearly itemizing your addi® Rocket purchases and prices paid, must be submitted for each of the three needles – a single receipt containing multiple needles is acceptable.
