It's Plucky Time!
And you thought Christmas was over! This Saturday, January 14th from 10am-6pm, Sarah and Hayley from The Plucky Knitter will be here and taking over a significant amount of floor space at Haus with all of their Plucky goodness! They'll be bringing an entire UPS truck full (well, maybe not THAT much) of yarn...and maybe even a surprise or two! We'll be celebrating with sparkling cocktails, as well as some of our favorite baked treats. Sallie Swor's rosemary shortbread, y'all....
As an added bonus... Fringe Supply Co. will be here with a pop-up version of their online shop! Fringe is Nashville-based and carries well-curated accessories and tools. You've probably seen their Field Bags in our shop; they'll have so much more here -- including the highly-coveted Porter Bin -- in the corner of the main room.
Parking
If you've ever visited Haus of Yarn before, you know that we share parking with a few other businesses -- luckily, most are closed on Saturday! If you live locally, we urge you to take advantage of one of the ride-sharing services all the kids are talking about these days, Uber or Lyft -- or even an old-school taxi! If you do decide to drive yourself (or are coming from out of town), there are almost 60 on-site spaces between the front lot and the lot hidden away behind the building (accessible from the front lot by the driveway directly to the left of the building). Just copy and paste this into your GPS app -- 265 White Bridge Rd. Nashville, TN, 37209 -- and you'll be here in no time.
But wait! There's more! We'll be running a shuttle between the shop and off-site parking at Big Picture High School (160 Rural Ave.) approximately every 15 minutes. Big Picture is within sight of the shop -- it's only one block -- but we strongly urge you to use the shuttle rather than attempting to park and walk. White Bridge Rd. is a very busy thoroughfare with cars zoom zoom zooming and the shop is not located near any crosswalks to help you with getting across it. Let us repeat: please use the shuttle rather than attempting to walk. Just look for the silver Suburban with the Haus of Yarn logo on the doors -- and of course, we'll shuttle you back to your car when your shopping is done!

Dining
If you're anything like us, you like to park once, so if you're coming to shop around lunchtime, we strongly recommend the Thai restaurant - Siam Cuisine - that is literally next door to us. We eat there quite often and love everything on the menu; it's also a lovely space, and would make a nice break from the Plucky madness unfolding next door!
There are many other options within a mile or two in either direction of the shop -- Mexican, Classic American, even the best chicken salad sandwich in town. All of these require a short drive, but are easy to get to -- just ask us for a recommendation and directions!
