Ley Lines Shawl

Ley Lines: Fresh off our Needles!

The Ley Lines shawl, from the Interpretations Volume 2 design collaboration between designers Joji Locatelli and Veera Välimäki, is a must knit and a must see! The ribbing in this shawl will let your imagination and attention wander around while you work its very simple instructions, and will leave you amazed at the direction your knitting took when you bind off the last remaining stitch! Our sample, knit in Merilin from Isager, is a softly textured fingering weight blend of merino wool and linen. The two fibers take the dye differently, giving the yarn a beautiful heathered quality, especially apparent in the darker shades. Our sample is knit with five skeins of color 47.

Isager Merilin is available in our online shop; if you live nearby, reserve yours by clicking "in store pickup" during the checkout process (at the "shipping method" stage) and we'll hold it until you can stop by and pick up. Otherwise, we're happy to pop them in the mail!

Same Yarn, Different Sample!

We couldn't resist -- this Isager Merilin yarn is just that good! -- so we made a second sample using it: the Anguli, which is designed to mimic the look of an asymmetrical triangular shawl wrapped around the neck -- but with no pesky ends to come untied. Knit flat in garter stitch with a simple stripe sequence, a series of increases and decreases forms the shape of this cowl, and one little seam up the back joins it together. This is a fun and quick project that uses a small amount of fingering weight yarn – perfect for gift and travel knitting, this is a beautiful, striking accessory. Our sample was knit using just one skein each of colors 0 and 46.
