A Note on Memorial Day

We hope everyone has had a safe Memorial Day weekend so far, and we thank all past and present who have served. The shop will be closed today, but if you're in the Nashville area, we highly recommend visiting the Nashville National Cemetery today, where you'll see miniature flags placed at each and every one of the cemetery's thousands of graves. The cemetery is located at 1420 Gallatin Road S., in Madison. We promise that if you decide to visit, you won't be sorry; it's an incredible way to pay respect to all those who have served.

YOTH

Just Arrived: YOTH Yarns!

We're thrilled to share the news that Haus of Yarn is now stocking YOTH Yarns! We first ran across them a few years back while vending at Stitches South and knew immediately that we wanted to share their yarns with you. We'll slowly be bringing in more of their bases; for now we've started with the just-released Best Friend, a light fingering weight yarn. Best Friend is a beautiful blended 4-ply yarn of 75% cotton & 25% wool, custom blended for YOTH Yarns by another of our favorites, Cestari Sheep & Wool Company. This yarn is the perfect companion for warm summer months, and has just the right amount of wool for elasticity...which helps make knitting it more comfortable. It's spun with a thick-thin look with little slubs throughout to give it an earthy almost silk-like feel, all the while being "cotton affordable." Each skein has 550 yards so one skein goes a long way!

We aren't selling this one online, so stop by the store to see the full palette and feel it in person! Our sample -- Coastline -- is a crescent-shaped shawl, worked top down starting from the neck with a garter tab cast on. Wavy curves of traditional Shetland lace motif - accentuated by contrasting stripes - flow between surrounding garter stitch.
