Linen!
There's nothing better than a lightweight summer knitting project! Here are three great patterns, all worked in either Shibui Linen or Shibui Reed (they're essentially the same yarn -- they knit at the same gauge and both can be used as substitutes for each other) -- clean, crisp linen fiber that's spun into a unique chain-ply structure. Quintessential summer yarns, both Linen and Reed knit up into light, airy garments that become softer with wear.
Vasa is an oversized, drapey tee knit flat in two pieces and then seamed at the sides and shoulders. Simple construction makes it suitable for knitters of all levels, and yields a versatile garment that's easy to wear for any occasion.
The L.1 scarf employs a simple, graphic stripe sequence that allows the linen itself to shine. This lightweight scarf emphasizes clean lines and a dramatic color scheme -- and it's a perfect warm-weather accessory!
The Ship to Shore shawl is a quick knit -- it's easy to follow and takes just one skein of either Shibui Linen or Shibui Reed! It's perfect as a traveling project or a quick gift. Differently-patterned sections will hold your interest and will speed you along!
