Bella Lino Fringed Scarf

Noro Nishiki

Fresh Off Our Needles: Bella Lino!

The Bella Lino Fringed Scarf - knit with just one skein of Noro's newest yarn, Nishiki - is a perfect transitional piece. Wear it now for Spring, and keep it on all Summer long, when indoor air conditioning turns frigid. Nishiki is a worsted weight self-striping, wonderfully soft cotton yarn, and is available in six bright, bold color combinations.

The pattern is easy-peasy: begin with just a few stitches, then increase every other row until you've used up half of your yarn (we increased to 71 stitches), then decrease back down to the original cast on count. The MAGIC of the pattern happens at the end, when you INTENTIONALLY drop stitches, unraveling them down the entire length of the piece and...fringe appears! We'll admit, we squealed just a little watching the magic happen.

LYS Day

Save the Date - LYS Day is coming!

Mark those calendars! Show your support for small businesses (like Haus of Yarn!) by celebrating the inaugural Local Yarn Store Day on Saturday, April 21st! This brick-and-mortar yarn shop appreciation day is a nationwide event, so if you don't find yourself in Nashville on Saturday, April 21st, check with your LYS to see what they have planned!

We'll be hosting four local makers to celebrate the craft we all love:

  • Meg from Nutmeg Fibers will be with us all day with all four of her amazing yarns, each sourced from the US and dyed by hand with natural dyes in small batches.
  • Lauren from Old Rusted Chair will be in store between 11am and 2pm and will have freshly restocked us with her incredibly gorgeous yarn!
  • Mary Jo from The Crafting Treehouse will be here all day with her adorable wooden stitch marker sets and Kitchener key fobs.
  • Vicki from Black Cat Bags will be with us all day (uhm, err...she'll be the one running the register!) with her impeccably sewn box bag project bags!

And, as usual, we have an entire section of the store devoted to locally-made yarns and accessories. Come join us and support your favorite LYS and local makers!

April Knitalong

Haus of Yarn Yearlong Knitalong: April Edition!!

Join us in the store today, Monday, April 2nd, at 11:00 am for April's Yearlong Knitalong project! This time around, we'll be working on the sweetest log cabin baby blanket, designed by Shayron. Borrowed from quilting, the concept behind the log cabin square is simple: begin with a square or rectangle then *pivot and add a section; repeat from *.

WARNING! These are slightly addictive! When working up our samples last year for the 2018 Yearlong Knitalong, we went a little nuts and just kept knitting up more and more samples. Choose one yarn that changes color, choose two different colors, three different colors, four different colors...and on and on it goes...

Not interested in log-cabining? You can still join the Yearlong Knitalong with an afghan block pattern from the Haus of Yarn Block-a-Month Afghan book. The Block-a-Month Knitalong meets at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 2nd.

Remember: attendance for Knitalong Mondays is always free! As a genuine 'thank you!' for your participation, all materials purchased at Haus of Yarn that relate directly to each month's knitalong will qualify for double stamps on our Haus of Yarn Reward Card. DOUBLE STAMPS! We really do appreciate your participation and want to encourage as many of you to make as many of the monthly projects as possible. Earning double stamps will make it that much easier!

Not local? No worries! Join the Yearlong Knitalong virtually. Click here to join our group and come knit along with us!

We'd love to see your projects! In process or completed...if you're on Instagram, join in anytime with #yearlongknitalong and #hausofyarntn.
