All Weather is Sweater Weather!

Have you seen the Tilly pattern from This.Bird.Knits. yet!? This simple top is knit in the round - top down - incorporating short rows across the back for slight shaping.  What makes it even more incredible is that the two smaller sizes can be knit using just one skein of YOTH yarns Best Friend; the other sizes only require two. Tilly is designed with 10-20" of positive ease, so choose the size that has a finished circumference between 10-20" bigger than your actual measurement. Meg is wearing an XS...it actually measures 50"!!

Best Friend is
a light fingering weight, 75% cotton/25% wool blend with 550 yards per 100g skein. It's a slightly "slubby" thick/thin yarn that's especially perfect for spring- and summer-weight sweaters and shawls...we're pretty serious when we say "all weather is sweater weather!"

Best Friend is not available for online purchase, but if you'd like to place an order, give us a call at the store and we'll be happy to take your order old-school-style...give us a ring! (615) 354-1007.

Colors, left to right: 1: Natural Vanilla; 2: Oyster; 3: Blueberry; 4: Cracked Pepper; 5: Shiitake; 6: Peach; 7: Mango; 8: Ginger Root; 9: Olive; 10: Mint

Haus of Yarn Yearlong Knitalong: August Edition!!

Join us in the store next Monday, August 6th, at 11:00 am for August's Yearlong Knitalong project! This time around, we'll be working the Basic Brioche Beanie! This is a great brioche for beginners project -- a simple two-color hat with a fold-up brim that really highlights the reversible brilliance of the brioche stitch. We sampled the hat three ways using Rios, Weepaca & Kashmir Alpakka - you'll only need one skein each of TWO colors of whichever you choose!

Not interested in learning brioche? You can still join the Yearlong Knitalong with an afghan block pattern from the Haus of Yarn Block-a-Month Afghan book. The Block-a-Month Knitalong meets at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 6th. Remember: attendance for Knitalong Mondays is always free! As a genuine 'thank you!' for your participation, all materials purchased at Haus of Yarn that relate directly to each month's knitalong will qualify for double stamps on our Haus of Yarn Reward Card.
