Sow Some Seeds
We learned this week that zinnias represent both endurance and thoughts of absent friends. That really struck us, since this is a time when we're all really feeling the absence of our friends (co-workers and customers alike!) and it certainly feels like we're enduring a lot!
We're slipping a packet of zinnia seeds into every online order, and we're challenging you to plant them (most do well in pots and allll do well in a sunny flower bed). Zinnias usually bloom around the sixty-day mark -- when that happens, cut a few and bring them to the (fingers crossed!) re-opened shop and we'll put them in a mason jar on the counter, where all of them will mingle together -- just like we'll be able to once more!
Yearlong Knitalong: April! The Lace Link Cowl
Join us next Monday, April 6th, from 11-noon for April's installment of the 2020 Haus of Yarn Yearlong Knitalong! We'll be meeting online via Zoom; for instructions on how to do that, keep reading!

How it Works
We'll be meeting online and here's what you'll need to do in advance (seriously - you have to do some of it in advance):
1) Let us know you'll be attending (click that to email us!) and we'll send you the Zoom meeting link in plenty of time for the KAL
2) Download the Zoom Cloud Meetings app from your device's app store (or directly from their site; click "Zoom Client for Meetings") and follow all the prompts and whatnot. While you're at it, go ahead and make any suggested updates to your browser.
3) Just a few minutes before 11am (CST) on Monday, April 6th, click the link we sent you. Pop-up questions might ask for microphone and video/camera access; allow both!
4) Just hang on a sec and you'll see other attendees pop up in the window as they arrive! It's that easy!
Note: While you can use Zoom on your phone, we find it isn't ideal -- so if you have access to a tablet/iPad, laptop or desktop, go that route. If you have trouble with Zoom, ask any 12-year old in your house...they're all experts!

What We're Knitting
Our project for April? The incredibly beautiful Lace Link Cowl, designed by Jo Strong, made even more beautiful with Camellia Fiber Co. yarn! You'll need one skein of Lace Mohair + Silk and one skein of Merino Worsted. This one is easy-peasy --even though it may look hard, it's nothing but slipping a stitch! This is usually a paid pattern, but we've made it free for downloading from Ravelry. Click here to get it!

We're knitalonging to see you (see what we did there?), so join us online Monday the 6th -- it'll be fun! Or a complete hilarious mess. We'll see!
Bricks-and-Mortar Temporarily Closed/Online Store Open!
New business guidelines during the Covid-19 pandemic are coming at all of us at a rapid pace; please follow us on Instagram @hausofyarntn or on Facebook for regular updates as the situation shifts.
While our physical shop remains closed until further notice, we're happy to fill and ship orders! So many of you have already taken advantage of that option, and we do appreciate it! Following the advice and recommendations of city and county government designed to keep all of us healthy and safe, we are no longer allowing in-store visits or curbside pickup. If you show up and yank on the door, you'll see a sign asking you to visit us online - thank you for understanding!
While almost any knitter could argue that a yarn shop is a "necessity," we all know that isn't precisely true, so we hope you'll take advantage of the luxury and ease of shopping from your living room! You already know that these are challenging times and we (along with every other other small business) appreciate your ongoing support. We're confident that we'll be here on the other side of this...whenever that may be!
