Vasa!
It definitely feels like the weather here in Nashville can't quite make up its mind. A couple days of Spring, then a few days of Summer...then back to Spring. Lather, rinse, repeat. On those summer-like days, we love a comfy linen tee and Vasa is one we reach for again and again. It's an oversized, drapey tee knit flat in two pieces and then seamed at the sides and shoulders. The simple construction makes it suitable for knitters of all levels, and yields a versatile garment that’s easy to wear. We knit our sample in Shibui Reed, a clean, crisp linen fiber that's spun into a chain-ply structure. The quintessential summer yarn, Reed knits up into light, airy garments that become softer with every wear.

The 34", 38" and 40" sizes require 3 skeins of the main color and 1 skein of the contrast color.
The 46", 50" and 54" sizes require 4 skeins of the main color and 1 skein of the contrast color.

Yearlong Knitalong: June | Felix...Pullover or Cardi?
Join us Monday after next, June 1st, from 11-noon for June's installment of the 2020 Haus of Yarn Yearlong Knitalong! We'll be meeting online via Zoom; for instructions on how to do that, keep reading!

What We're Making
We'll be working on Felix from Amy Christoffers. Luckily for us (and you!), Felix has both pullover and cardigan options. We love it for its simplicity -- just a little lace detail at the raglan shaping for the shoulders. This is a very quick and easy knit with light aran yarn, worked at a relaxed open gauge.
Both samples are knit using Elsbeth Lavold Silky Wool Aran. The DK weight version of this yarn has been a favorite of ours for nearly a decade and we're thrilled that there's now an Aran weight version in bold, saturated colors!
Click HERE for the Pullover pattern or HERE for the Cardigan pattern. Once you decide on the size you'd like to make, click HERE to get your hands on some Silky Wool Aran. If you'd rather have a non-wool version, Berroco Remix would make an excellent version! Click HERE to shop Remix!

How it Works
We'll be meeting online (just like last month!) and here's what you'll need to do in advance (seriously - you have to do some of it in advance):
1) Let us know you'll be attending (<--- click that phrase to email us!) and we'll send you the Zoom meeting link in plenty of time for the KAL
2) If you haven't done it already, download the Zoom Cloud Meetings app from your device's app store (or directly from their site; click "Zoom Client for Meetings") and follow all the prompts and whatnot. While you're at it, go ahead and make any suggested updates to your browser
3) Just a few minutes before 11am (CST) on Monday, June 1st, click the link we sent you. Pop-up questions might ask for microphone and video/camera access; allow both!
4) Just hang on a sec and you'll see other attendees pop up in the window as they arrive! It's that easy!
We're knitalonging to see you (see what we did there?), so please join us online Monday the 1st -- it'll be fun! April and May's Zoom KALs went very, very smoothly (quite frankly, they were a blast!), so we're excited to do it again!
Note: While you can use Zoom on your phone, we find it isn't ideal -- so if you have access to a tablet/iPad, laptop or desktop, go that route. If you have trouble with Zoom, ask any 12-year old in your house...they're all experts!
