emPOWER PEOPLE BANDANA!

emPOWER PEOPLE is a purple-hued craftivism project aimed at uniting crafters to spark conversation, engagement, and action. Wear it when you vote, grocery shop, march, or knit in your socially isolated bedroom! We'd love to see a sea of purple to represent unity, so please tell your friends, family, knitting groups, or anyone who can knit, crochet, or sew a simple pattern. Make a bandana and a commitment to vote! And if you end up with Patti Smith's 'People Have the Power' running through your head all day, all week, all year...well, you won't be the only one!

We have loads of purple yarn in the shop, but we've chosen to highlight three, woman-owned small businesses. Both the knit and crochet versions of emPOWER PEOPLE can be completed with a single skein.

Clementine & Spincycle

The Clementine Cowl uses two skeins in contrasting colors and is a simple, drapey, slip-stitched color work cowl. The slip-stitch polka dot pattern is a simple way to add texture to stockinette fabric. Knit in the round, the finishing couldn't be simpler! Just add one each of two contrasting colors to your cart and you'll be slip-stitching away! Oh and hey -- we looked this up on the internet: with 40 different colors, you can make 780 unique pairings! Go wild, y'all! The number one email and phone call we get is "do you have Spincycle in XXXXX color?" Well...we probably do right now, so check out all 40 colors of Spincycle Dyed in the Wool hanging on our wall!
