Sparks!

Our long-awaited shipment from Magpie Fibers arrived this week and the timing was perfect! We now have 42 available colors of Swanky Sock in stock! A silky blend of merino, cashmere and nylon with a beautiful drape and sheen, it's perfect for just about any fingering weight project.

Pair a skein of Swanky Sock with a skein of Spincycle's Dyed in the Wool and try your hand at some stranded socks! Sparks, Andrea Mowry's latest, is a pair of stranded colorwork socks knit from the cuff down. Waste yarn is placed for an afterthought heel, which you return to once the body of the sock is finished. If you're one of our monthly Yearlong Knitalong participants, you'll remember that that particular technique is exactly what we did for the Muckle Mitts last year - so you know it's easy-peasy!

Magpie Swanky DK & Hipster

Along with the aforementioned Magpie Swanky Sock shipment, we also received a restock of the well-beloved Swanky DK. 42 colors of it! The same, lovely, silky blend of merino, cashmere and nylon with beautiful drape and sheen as Swanky Sock, but DK weight (250 yards/skein)! We plan on snagging a few skeins ourselves and working up a sample of the Hipster Shawl from Joji Locatelli. Hipster isn't a new pattern (in fact it's been out in the wild since 2018, with close to 2500 projects logged in Ravelry's database) but it's been on our minds and in our queue for a long time, so it's time to make that dream come true. But now... the hard part. What color should we make it in!?!?

If you wanna join us - or have your eye on some Swanky DK for another project - shop all 42 colors HERE! The pattern for Hipster is available HERE!
