Yearlong Knitalong: December | Ear Warmers!

Holiday crafting season has begun and we're already seeing so many of you on the hunt for something quick and easy because you need to craft in multiples! With that in mind, December's KAL project is a group of three ear warmers, each a shop favorite that makes a great gift. All three patterns are free from Ravelry and are available by clicking on these links: MargeryTammy and Warm Blonde

All three ear warmers are knit flat and then stitched together to form the circle. We consider these "easy" and quite suitable for beginners.
For Margery, we used Kid Fur on US 11 needles. Kid Fur is a blend of Alpaca and Mohair and is light as a feather!

Tammy is knit from Alpaca Grande on a US 7 needle, making it the most dense of the lot -- so if blocking winter wind is a top priority, pick this one! Alpaca Grande is 100% Alpaca.

Warm Blonde is worked using Ushya on US 17 needles. Ushya is a chainette Merino, making it super warm yet quite lightweight.

USHYA Hat

A cozy hat that's an ultra-quick project and a perfect gift knit, USHYA uses just one skein of Ushya. Knit using big ol' 16" US 13 and US 15 needles, this project comes together faster than you can watch two Hallmark Christmas movies!

Ushya is unbelievably lightweight, soft and warm! Since the yarn is chain-plied, it's perfect for on-trend bulky accessories without weighing the wearer down. And we love the maker of this yarn; Mirasol Yarn is made in Peru to benefit the Mirasol Project, a group that strives to better the lives of Peruvian shepherds through building and supporting schools.
