Metamorphic Sweater!

Andrea Mowry released a new sweater pattern recently and we've had so much fun helping picking out yarn pairings for it! The combo we keep returning to over and over is Nest from Magpie Fibers for the main color and - of course - Dyed in the Wool from Spincycle for the contrast color. We've put together some of our favorite combinations below; we've got loads of Dyed in the Wool in stock currently, so there are plenty of options.

Metamorphic is knit from the top down (you can try it on as you go and add length to suit your own personal style!), beginning with the collar. The beautiful reverse stockinette stripes are created by knitting the sweater inside out so you can avoid all that purling!  Slipped stitch faux "seams" encase both the sweater and the sleeves, giving it just the right amount of detail.

Metamorphic is designed to be worn with a recommended ease between 0" - 4". Finished measurements are 32.75 (37, 40.75, 44.25, 48.75) (52.25, 56.75, 61, 64.75)”, so based on your selected size, you'll need the following quantities of skeins:

  • Main Color - Magpie Fibers Nest (100% non-superwash Corriedale) 350 yds/100 g ~ 2 (2, 3, 3, 3) (3, 3, 3, 4) skeins
  • Contrast Color - Spincycle Yarns Dyed in the Wool (100% American Wool) 200  yds/50 g ~ 2 (3, 3, 3, 3) (4, 4, 4, 5) skeins
