Easy V

WHOA! We had lots of fun this week helping folks pair combinations for Caitlin Hunter's newest pattern release, The Easy V. This one is designed to have a relaxed, easy fit, perfect for everyday wear. It's knit top down in the round and features a subtle V-shaped neckline which transitions to a round colorwork yoke design. The colorwork is easy to work with short repeats (and only two colors per row!), making the knitting fun and relaxing while letting your color choices stand out as the star.

Written for worsted weight yarn, we loved matching up Spincycle's Dream State (for the three required contrast colors) with either Brooklyn Tweed Shelter or Camellia Fiber Co. Worsted.

We can't resist sharing our favorite matchup so far: Dream State in (from left to right, above) Stay Ready, Castaway and Wololo, along with dreamy Camellia from Camellia Fiber Co. Swoon!

Linen! For Summer! We Know: "Groundbreaking!"

Need a simple, one-skein project for those summer travel plans? The Venice Scarf is a favorite of ours. There's only ONE row that you'll need to remember - simply repeat the row until you've reached the desired length. It's pictured above in Ollagua from Araucania Yarns - a vibrant, hand-dyed pure linen. We love linen because it's sturdy...but we really love it because it just gets better and better with time. Use it! Wash it! It becomes softer and softer the more you do!

For a scarf that measures 6 3/4" x 87", you'll need just ONE skein of Ollagua; if you'd like a scarf that measures 13 1/4" x 87", buy two skeins!

*Sample color shown in photograph is Amatista.

SSK 2022 Still Has Some Spots!

The Super Summer Knitogether is a "go" this year! The annual SSK Retreat is returning to Nashville at the Scarritt Bennett Center for 2022, and Leslie and Laura (your hostesses) still have a few available spots!  The event will be held from July 20-24.

There are two options for participants.  The first is the event with lodging on campus.  The second “daypass” option is for people who are finding their own housing or live local. We love this retreat, and if you can make it happen, you should do it!
