Ellis + Brighton Beach

We love everything about Queensland's Brighton Beach. Its 300+ yards of the perfect blend is perfect for summery shawls and or ponchos - and that time of year is coming, we promiseBrighton Beach is a sport weight blend of 45% linen, 35% cotton, 20% acrylic, with a slight thick-and-thin texture. It's the quintessential spring/summer yarn and softens up significantly with each washing...which is no-fuss since it’s machine washable! With the official arrival of spring, we just added two new gorgeous color options to the existing line-up!

We're smitten with the Ellis poncho pattern, which features the simplest structure imaginable: it's a poncho that eschews the usual triangle. The Ellis is easy to knit (it's just one long rectangle), easy to finish, and easy to throw on!

Shop Brighton Beach HERE! You'll need three to complete your project, worked on a 24" US 5 needle. If you need one, find it HERE. The Ellis pattern is free with any Brighton Beach yarn purchase!

Oodles of Doodles

Doodle Decks fly out of here so fast that we can't help but shout it from the rooftops (or this newsletter) when a big ol' box of them shows up. We've got (precise counting in progress!) approximately one billion of them in stock now, including the brand new Cat and Dog Doodle Decks. One nice lady this week vowed to plug some of the "Dog" charts into a dog sweater she's working on and we can't wait to see it!

No idea what we're going on about? Well! A brilliant idea that inspires creative colorwork, Doodle Decks use flexible mix-and-match chart cards to help you visually arrange and rearrange motifs to design the perfect colorwork project from start to finish. Choose your own individualized adventure and have some fun expressing yourself and you'll end up with a unique, specific-to-you project! And don't worry...there are "base" patterns to get you going so you can get right to the fun stuff!

Find all of the in-stock Doodle Decks - including the new Cat and Dog Decks - HERE and see if you can stop once you start. Spoiler alert: you cannot.

Easy Baby Blanket: Now Fluorescent!

We've shared this adorable baby blanket (knit using Cumulus Rainbow from Juniper Moon Farm) previously, but we're jazzed about a new color option that just showed up: Fluorescent Lights. It transitions through a slightly different spectrum of colors - more fluorescent, as the name suggests! - than the Tropical Sunset sample, but the saturation level is similarly vivid!

There are loads of amazingly soft yarns out there, but Cumulus really will have you exclaiming, "that is sooooo soft!" Cumulus is a cloud-like worsted weight, chainette cotton yarn with a touch of nylon for durability. Using two cakes of it, we started knitting from the outside of cake #1 and then continued working cake #2 from the center out, (which keeps the ombre color sequence seamless). Our blanket is 23" wide by 33" long - a perfect size for a car seat baby blanket.

Shop Cumulus Rainbow HERE! You'll need two cakes if you want to make this spectacular blanket.

You'll need a 24" US 9 circular needle and a couple of stitch markers!
