Local Yarn Store Day is BAAAAACK!

We can hardly believe Local Yarn Store Day is almost upon us again - it's Saturday, April 26! We've got a few things going on in that regard, so we're gonna spread the info out and start yammering about it now!

Lou from Old Rusted Chair has freshly dyed and restocked a couple of custom-for-Haus colors in both her Squish DK and Sock bases: Haus Zinnias and Nourish. The Haus Zinnias colorway is rooted in a shop tradition that goes back a few years (but more on that next week) and we're thrilled to have a healthy bouquet of it in anticipation of LYS Day (it's online and in-store now, though; you needn't wait!).

Nourish is a spectacular speckled ode to spring with an incredibly rich combination of gorgeous color! We have a terrific store sample worked up in it: Janina Kallio's Wildheart shawl. It's a one-skein project that combines dropped stitches, eyelets and simple lace for maximum effect. It's knit on the bias, and its alternating garter and lace sections hold your interest while knitting...but it also works up super-quick. You need just a single skein of ORC Sock for Wildheart. We're partial to the custom Nourish, but you've got a pretty wide swath of colorways from which to choose.

You can find the Wildheart pattern RIGHT HERE. Old Rusted Chair Sock is HERE and Squish DK is HERE.

Yarn details: ORC Sock is 400 yards of a 80% superwash merino 20% nylon blend; Squish DK is 231 yards of 100% superwash merino

Bok-Bok: Chicken Stuff!

It wasn't intentional, but a bunch of chicken stuff has hatched at Haus all at the same time.

The folks at Ricorumi never disappoint when it comes to adorable crocheted animals. The Ricorumi Pocket Pals pattern booklet features a "stackable" menagerie that includes this plucky, clucky lil' chicken. Each is mainly a single ball of Ricorumi with a few bits and bobs of other colors required for the details. The Pocket Pals booklet is HERE but you can find all things Ricorumi RIGHT HERE.

65 South's 8-Piece Chicken tote is a great tongue-in-beak tribute to our favorite feathered friends. Take it to the market and load it up with very expensive eggs, or use it for, you know, a knitting project. Woven outer, cotton duck canvas pocketed interior, leather handles. No feathers. You can grab one RIGHT HERE - it also comes in a chic (chick?) black-and-natural option.

Last up is a precious little lidded silicon notions container; this one hides two fried egg stitch markers/progress keepers!
