OMG LOOK AT THIS LIL' DACHSHUND!

We've always had a thing for little crocheted amigurumi animals (Haus is positively crawling with them!), but knitted versions cross our paths somewhat less frequently; there just don't seem to be as many out there. Well...ta-da! You can create lovely cuddly toys with a complete knitting kit from Hardicraft! We had a handful of these a while back; they've been re-stocked at last, with some new additions: Emma Cat, Lore Lamb and this riDICulous dachshund, Ria.

These knitted toys not only look super cute, but are also super-soft due to the "melange" yarn. Each kit is packaged with enough Scheepjes Stone Washed yarn to complete your project. Stone Washed is a soft, cotton/acrylic blend that's machine washable.
Kits also contain a multilingual pattern (EN, NL, DU and FR), yarn, safety eyes and the required stuffing. All you need is your own favorite knitting needle!

Finished sizes vary per kit. As far as the new-to-Haus ones go, Ria the Dachshund is just short of a foot long, Emma Cat is just under 10" tall and Lore Lamb sits at approximately 8". The lamb and the dachshund are worked on a 2.5mm needle; the cat on a 3mm.

When it comes to the restocked members of the menagerie, Chloe the Rabbit is 9 3/4" tall, Freek the Elephant is 10 1/2" tall, Frida Piglet is about the same (10 1/2" tall) and John the Bear is 9 3/4" tall. All of this group works up on a 3mm needles.

Shop the Hardicraft Kits shelf HERE! Hardicraft has a nifty little needle set that includes the various needle sizes mentioned above. That's available via that same listing.

Walk the Line ... with Free Patterns from Sandnes Garn!

The yarn-of-the-moment here at Haus seems to be Line Worsted from Sandnes Garn (though it's running neck-and-neck with Knitting for Olive of all varieties!). The Man in the Brown Truck brought us a major restock of Line this week - just in the nick of time for you to grab sweater quantities of single-dye-lot colors! Hooray! Included in the shipment were six new colors (Deep Burgundy, Acorn, Rose Lavender, Flame Scarlet, Light Yellow and Olive Green), as well as a hefty restock of the perfect blue: Blueprint.

Intrigued by Line's dreamy cotton/viscose/linen blend but not sure what to make from it? THAT'S WHAT WE'RE HERE FOR! Sandnes Garn has a handful of (free!) perfect-for-summer sweater patterns, all of which are knockouts...and knock-outtable in no time flat. Take a look at both the Snowbell Top and the Snowbell Sweater (they differ in sleeve length), as well as the Linn Slipover and the Marian T-Shirt. All four are terrific designs that make the most of Line's magical drapey-softness and Sandnes Garn's unparalleled color palette. Download one (or all four!), pick a size, do a little yardage figuring, and get started!
