Say Hey to Nansei!
Does it feel like we've been showing you lightweight tanks for ages now? Well that's because it's been hotter than the surface of the sun and the very idea of anything TOUCHING OUR ARMS makes us burst into flames. So what's one more? Say hello to Nansei!
The confetti rainbow of Noro Kompeito's Shiro colorway gets added dimension from a slip-stitch texture pattern worked above Nansei's vented hem. Nansei is worked simply by making a yarnover, then passing it over the next two stitches. Simple K2, P2 ribbed edges create a sporty finish. This is a fantastic addition to your all tank-and-tee summer wardrobe!
Noro's Kompeito is a summery DK blend of cotton, silk and nylon. Showing off in the softness department, its structure and durability also make it perfect for short-sleeved tops and tanks. We love the curated collection of summery, signature Noro hues. The generous 492-yard ball keeps weaving in ends to a minimum!
You'll find Kompeito RIGHT HERE. The version in the photo above is worked up in Shiro, but there are some new colors; check out the rich new hues of Nakatsu and Sayama! All sizes (S-2XL) require two cakes of Kompeito, and a printed copy of the pattern is free and included with your order when you buy two cakes!

All About Evie
Feeling inspired by all the stripes we're seeing all over the fashion magazines (yes, we still read magazines!), we kitted up a few variations on the seasonably-flexible Evie shawl (it's even perfect for summer!).
Evie is worked up in three different skeins of Huasco Hand-Painted Sock, which draws its inspiration from ancient South American handicrafts. It's an incredibly soft blend of superwash wool (75%) and polymide (25%), with a hefty 433 yards per skein. It's got a great "drape," which makes it perfect for Evie.
Our seasonally appropriate, sorta red-white-and-blue sample is made up in the Sapphire colorway, but we love the dramatic potential of that Blacksmith combo!
The kit includes a free printed copy of the pattern and three different skeins of Huasco. If you wanna go your own way, you can find the pattern RIGHT HERE and Huasco yarn RIGHT HERE. A kit saves you five dollars, since the pattern is included, though...just sayin'.

July's Monthly Make: The Issa Cowl!
July's Monthly Make is the Issa Cowl, which makes the absolute most of two skeins of Spincycle's Dyed in the Wool. You can see from the two cowls in the shots above that color choice is everything here; choose two colors that are similar in value and you'll get a result similar to the cowl on the left. Choose a high-contrast pair and you'll get the crystal-clear zigzaggery in the cowl on the right. There are no wrong choices, but we put a few options that we love together! You can find all 87 billion shades of Dyed in the Wool RIGHT HERE (but remember: you only need two).
The Issa Pattern is available via Ravelry RIGHT HERE. Download a copy and join us in-store (if you're local to the Middle Tennessee area) on Monday, July 7 at 11am. Not local? Join us in spirit and just cast on whenever the mood strikes you. Just make something!

Cross Stitch Fever
Our March sojourn a few miles south (all the way to Franklin!) to the 2025 Nashville Needlework Market garnered a handful of charming new cross stitch patterns from Hello, Liz Mathews. Meg crossed and stitched her little fingers off getting this matching set of "Sunshine" panels finished in time for you to pack a set up and take on your summer travels (they're incredibly portable).
We used Weeks Dye Works embroidery floss in Squash and 18-count Aida Cloth for our set. We're big fans of Weeks' ever-so-slightly variegated colors; their dye approach adds a terrific depth to their floss shades.
Take a look and grab some of our Liz Mathews pattern haul RIGHT HERE.
Weeks Dye Works floss is RIGHT HERE. Aida Cloth is RIGHT HERE. All you need to rustle up is a lil' needle and a hoop!
Note: if you plan on making the Sunshine set and you want it to frame up like ours, you'll need two pieces of our Aida 18-count cloth.
