Make a Shift . . . to New Colors of Rios!

We've got a handful of brand new Malabrigo Rios colors in the shop (if you visit in person, they're all on the top row of the Rios wall) and so far this week, people are zeroing right in on them! Take a look at that Gardenia....I mean.

We've revisited a Haus favorite - the Shift Cowl! - to highlight the new shades. The Shift Cowl is one of our favorite knits, and it's by far one of the most popular samples in the shop. It's originally written for sport weight yarn, but we mixed it up and went with worsted weight Rios and used a US 7 needle. We've worked up a few color combos (above), but if you wanna go rogue, you're looking for one variegated and then two more solid tonals; just choose three different values and you're all set!

Rios is a longtime shop mainstay, but just in case it's new to you...it's a worsted merino superwash yarn from Malabrigo with major next-to-skin softness. It's also machine washable so you don't have to worry about felting! Available in about a hundred colors (seriously).

Restocked! Woodland Print Bags!

These adorable woodland print bags and pouches are finally back in stock! We love their off-kilter take on traditional woodland toile patterns. They feature various forest fauna - all knitting! - in stages of repose (the little zippered pouch crops just to the rabbits; the big zippered tote adds foxes, squirrels, and hedgehogs to the mix). And look, whether you got there via Beatrix Potter or Wes Anderson, there's no one who doesn't love a scarf-wearing fox!

The tote (13" x 18" x 6" with a 25" over-the-shoulder handle) is printed on both sides for an allover pattern; the pouch (10" x 7" x 3") is printed on just one side. Both have flat, gusseted bottoms.

You can find them RIGHT HERE. Good luck not being charmed!

Note: these have been getting snapped up pretty quickly - especially the big zippered tote!

August Monthly Make: The Magnolia Ascot

August's Monthly Make is upon us! This month, we're working on the Magnolia Ascot, a super-chic alternative to a traditional kerchief. Worked up in a single skein of Camellia Fiber Co's Yak, it's a lovely addition to your accessories collection. This ascot's pattern is written for three sizes, but that single skein is still enough for any of them.

Camellia Fiber Co.'s Yak is RIGHT HERE. A 65% merino/20% silk/15% yak blendthis 4 ply DK yarn offers next-to-skin softness (again, you'll just need one skein).

The Magnolia Ascot pattern is available (for free!) RIGHT HERE. Download a copy and join us in-store (if you're local to the Middle Tennessee area) on Monday, August 4 at 11am. Not local? Join us in spirit and just cast on whenever the mood strikes you. Just make something!

By the way...Magnolia rounds out a trio of projects - each using a single skein of CFCo's Yak - that have all been Monthly Make subjects! You'll have an heirloom-worthy set of luxurious accessories if you make all three! You can find the pattern for the Cable Hat RIGHT HERE and the mitts are RIGHT HERE. Each requires a single skein of Yak.

Tuft Woolens Balm: It's Baaaack!

After a bit of a pause, Tuft Woolens Hand and Body Balm is back in stock! We love this lanolin-rich balm because it delivers loads of delightful smelling lotion right where you need it, thanks to the handy applicator. Organic shea and cocoa butters team with lanolin and coconut oil to condition and smooth rough patches, and beeswax keeps moisture where it belongs.
