Totally Tote Talk!

We had a batch of Celina Mancurti's amazing totes in the shop for about ten seconds last month, but in-store visitors snapped them up before we could even think about getting them online. We beefed up the second order a bit, so there should be enough to go around for at least the next ten seconds.

The spacious Tote is the perfect companion for travels, shopping excursions, beach outings, daily errands, and countless other activities...but more to our purposes, this is a great sweater or blanket project bag!

The smaller Mini Tote is great for running errands and grabbing coffee...or literally almost any non-enormous knitting project! The Mini features an interior hanging pocket large enough for a wallet, phone or various knitting notions.

  • Tote Dimensions: 19" x 14" x 5"
  • Mini Tote dimensions: 15" x 13" x 5"

Both sizes are made from heavyweight natural canvas. Made in the US, they're machine-washable (cold water; line dry to preserve shape; remove leather strap - keep reading! - before laundering). Available in both natural with a natural webbing side detail or black with a camo webbing side detail.

The detachable leather strap comes in a half-dozen different two-tone colorways and is sold separately, so make sure you add a strap to your order as well! Otherwise, you're just gonna have a fancy canvas bucket. The strap is tough enough for daily use and only gets better with time! The crossbody strap measures 38" x 1.5"

There's also a little knotted leather charm that you can add if you'd like a little bit of added bling!

A New Favorite: The Missing Ingredient Cowl in Malabrigo Caprino

We hinted last week about a major Malabrigo re-stock and we've finally finally gotten it all out of the boxes and up on the wall. So here's a bunch of chitchat about all that!

We recently ran across the fantastic new Missing Ingredient Cowl from designer Virginia Sattler-Reimer; it's made with Malabrigo's Caprino, which we love and think sometimes gets overlooked a bit. It's a fantastic 80/20 blend of superfine merino and cashmere that comes 164 yards to the skein. We probably say "next-to-skin soft" more than we should (you figure out different ways to say it week after week!) but it's absolutely true about Caprino!

The Missing Ingredient Cowl has a terrific, easy-to-handle allover stitch pattern and the collar can be folded or scrunched depending on the look you're after. Virginia worked hers up in Indiecita, a color that appears across multiple Malabrigo lines that is particularly beautiful in Caprino - but Malabrigo's usual mouth-watering array of colors is represented on the Caprino wall up in here. This is a great time to reward yourself with a little cashmere luxury since you only need two skeins for a Missing Ingredient!

You can grab the pattern RIGHT HERE. Virginia let us know that there are a couple of related Missing Ingredient patterns as well: Mitts and Socks!

Malabrigo Caprino is RIGHT HERE. Remember: two's plenty for a Missing Ingredient Cowl!

Malabrigo Mohair + Knitting for Olive Merino: Perfect for Sophie!

Knitting for Olive provoked about a million heart attacks with their recent social media posts about retail shipping being complicated by tariffs; they were not lying...it's tough out there! News came late last week that KFO is shipping again...but we've had a pretty full wall of it this whole time!

KFO Merino - when held double with Malabrigo's Mohair - works up into a perfect PetiteKnit Sophie Scarf; we love the way the subtle variegation of the Mohair ebbs and flows in Sophie's garter fabric. And whaddya know....Malabrigo Mohair has been restocked as well!

At this point, you probably know more about the Sophie Scarf than we do - surely you've made a few! - but just in case...you only need one skein each of KFO Merino and Malabrigo Mohair to make one.

Shift Happens...AGAIN!

Whenever we get a Rios restock, we're gonna talk about the Shift Cowl, y'all, so just be ready for that. Box after box of newly-arrived Malabrigo Rios has us thinking about it all over again, so we thought it would be a great time to remind you about this classic!

The Shift Cowl is one of our favorite knits, and it's by far one of the most popular samples in the shop. Originally written for sport weight yarn, we instead chose worsted weight Malabrigo Rios and used a US 7 needle. And while we do have a few combos in mind (see above!), this is a great time to go wild and make up your own combination! Just choose three different values (a light, a medium and a dark is a great way to go) and you're all set.

You can find Rios RIGHT HERE. You only need one each of whichever three colors you settle on. You can find the Shift Cowl pattern RIGHT HEREBut surely you bought it already, right?
