Yippee-Ki-Yi-YAY! It's a Needle Roundup!

It's less than two weeks until Christmas, which means it's time to get those wishlists finalized. If an interchangeable needle set is on yours and you need to drop a few last-minute hints, keep in mind that Haus has a wide selection of them! Multiple formats of ChiaoGoo (hello Shorties! and, uh, non-Shorties!), Addi, Tulip and Lykke (including the new stainless steel Flights) dangle on the needle wall. Having them all in one place means you can come in and compare and contrast and see what feels good in your hand!

Speaking ofon-hand needles...TAKE A LOOK AT THAT NEEDLE WALL! Fully restocked with eleventy billion different brands, sizes, lengths, pieces parts, doodads, whatnots and thingamajigs. In addition to all the little fiddly interchangeable bits and bobs, Haus carries a full complement of fixed needles in both metal and bamboo. We're not going to challenge you to stump us, but go ahead: try and stump us!

You can find the needle sets in the photo above via the quick links below...but there's more to see, and the mighty Haus of Yarn website can help you out with that!

Now...We Know You're Gonna Ask About That Sweater. . .

We know you're gonna ask, so: in the needle wall photo up topMeg is modeling the light-as-a-feather but deliciously warm Kelowna Sweater in Loopy Mango's Mohair So Soft. Kelowna is an absolutely terrific "beginner" sweater, but it's also perfect if you just want to take a break from fiddlier knitting.

You can find the Kelowna pattern HERE and the Loopy Mango Mohair So Soft Meg used is HERE (she worked it up in Shameless Pink). We also like Be Wool for this one (Loopy Mango is fuzzy and fun; Be Wool has a more traditional ply). Kelowna yardage chart for both is above. Get crackin' and you can have this one in tip-top shape for a Christmas morning debut!

The Lovely Lilli

Hoods have definitely been a thing this past year - we've talked about two, Hoodola and Hebrides - and over the past couple of weeks, we've had multiple people hunting up materials for this adorable Lilli Bonnet. This playful take on a classic features our just-about-favorite yarn combo, Double Sunday and Tynn Silk Mohair...an irresistible mix that provides warmth and fluffiness! You can tie Lilli up in a bow...or just sling those long bits around your neck a few times!

Shop Double Sunday HERE and Tynn Silk Mohair HERE! You only need three balls of Double Sunday and two of Tynn Silk Mohair. The blue finished Lilli seen above is worked in Double Sunday in Night Sky and Tynn Silk Mohair in Dark Sky Blue...but we think it'd be a great way to bring a swath of any bright color into your wardrobe.

You can grab the Lilli Bonnet pattern RIGHT HERE.

Indispensable Tool Alert

Just restocked are a couple of tools from Twice Sheared Sheep we can't live without...and these make great knitting group gifts, if you're on the hunt.

Quick Gauge Swatch Ruler
Quickly check the stitch gauge on your project in both knit and crochet. No counting needed! Simply slide the Quick Gauge ruler over your project until the stitches line up inside one of the gauge grids. The matching grid shows your stitch count per inch.

Sock Sizing Ruler
Always knit the correct sock size, no matter who the recipient is. Works for both top down or toe up socks; simply place the ruler with the arrow snug into the heel (or toe) of your sock and knit until you reach the line for your desired size. Then just begin working your toe (or your heel!). Accounts for a 2″ heel and toe. No math: just knit! (Note: color of ruler may vary).

You can find all things Twice Sheared Sheep RIGHT HERE.

Ornament Last Call

The numbers are dwindling on these cute lil' knitted holiday ornaments. Available in four options - a sheep, a bunny, and both grey and tan owls - these are terrific little nods to your favorite hobby...and you don't even have to knit them yourself (though you have our permission to just lie about that). Surprisingly, the owls are way out in front sales-wise; we would have for sure guessed the sheep!

Mélange works closely with organizations dedicated to empowering women through income-generating projects. The Peruvian makers of these ornaments enjoy a safe work environment and earn a living wage with a respect for their cultural traditions.
