If you're local and would prefer a physical gift card (pictured above), you can still stop by the shop and grab one. When you do it that way, you can always pick up one of BlackCatBags' sweet little zippered pouches to pop it into for gift-giving. These are great for knitting and sewing notions, credit cards, phones...and gift cards. And of course, we have just a few Christmas-y ones left! Each pouch is individually cut and sewn using a linen/cotton blend fabric (with a coordinating cotton lining) and measures 8"x5.5".

Ahoy, Sailor!
We have had so many people come in and ask for Sailor Slippers supplies that we just assumed it was Fleet Week. It's an almost unprecedented level of demand (I mean: Sophie Scarf? Who dis?).
Annie Germain's Sailor Slippers are a fairly simple project to tackle (technically described as "advanced beginner"): first, knit a giant slipper that would, oh, fit Bigfoot. Then, through the use of hot water (and magic!) your slipper turns out to be non-Bigfoot-sized. Meg knocked them out in two nights...plus wishy-washy time.
We've brought in a gorgeous chunky yarn from Laines du Nord: Young and Trendy. 100% non-superwash wool (critical for felting!). Eighteen solids, three variegates. An almost infinite number of combinations! Refer to the chart above for quantity guidance. You'll also need US 11 needles (circs or straights).

Little Bitty Last Minute Gifty Things!
It took us (mumbledy-mumbledy) years to figure out that it's always a good idea to have an extra gift or two on-hand in case one extra person drops by the house unexpectedly over the holidays...so here's our permanent solution moving forward: if that person happens to be a knitter or crocheter, ditch the generic smelly candle and hand them a handsome deck of teeny tiny crafting patterns!
This whopping Doodle Card Deck features 200 (!) mix and match motifs and spans five different Doodle Deck themes: Basic, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. There are plenty of options to get you mixing and matching and making your own unique Doodle! Doodle Decks are HERE.
These boxed Granny Square card decks contain 50 colorful cards, each featuring a gorgeous granny square. On the front of each 4 x 4" card is a color photograph of the finished granny square, and nothing else. This allows you to lay out the designs and easily mix, match and create your own design combinations. Simply flip the card over to find the instructional crochet chart and joining instructions. Granny Square Decks are HERE.
Oh...and stitch stoppers also work. They're a bargain and we have nine-hundred-billion in every conceivable theme to choose from. Those are HERE. And also: all over the danged store.

Revisiting Carya
A quick revisit to just two weeks ago! We underestimated how many of you would go for the exact Modern Tweed color combo in which our Carya Cardigan sample is worked! We sold out of two of these colors pretty quickly and promised a few of you they'd be back ASAP. We got them restocked in record time, though, and they're back on the wall!
We love this stylish little Carya cardigan. We have this very sample in-store right now! It's worked up in Modern Tweed Aran in three colors: grey, ecru and berry...but almost any combo of three works. This is a terrific way to introduce a staple layering piece into your outfit rotation.
Modern Tweed takes a classic tweed vibe and makes it softer and lighter to create a yarn that's as comfortable as it is beautiful. This aran weight blend of wool and polyamide has viscose slubs spun right in, giving it texture and interest. The end result: stunning sweaters, scarves, hats, and more.
