My Bohemian Jumper in Plume

We've had Plume in the shop for a bit and it's hard to believe we haven't talked about it here yet. Just look at it up there, looking like sweet, delicious glazed doughnuts!

Well, Plume is sweet and delicious: a perfect fusion between the silky softness of Egyptian cotton and the strength of nylon. The charm of it lies not only in its luminous, subtle sheen but also in its incredible versatility. Perfect for creating elegant tops, shawls, camisoles and chic accessories, Plume's particular cotton and nylon blend adds a touch of sophistication to every project.  It's a dream to work with - both soft and airy - and it weighs nothing, even when worked up into a chunky sweater...like.....

...the one Meg coughed up in no time flat! My Bohemian Jumper is worked top-down and results in a relaxed summer jumper with deep raglan armholes. We love its loosey-goosey "sweatshirt" styling and you'll spend half your time in it just hugging yourself. It's here in the shop if you wanna come see and/or feel it (you will).

You can find your jumper size and corresponding yardage info using the chart above. You'll find that pattern RIGHT HERE. Plume in all of its gorgeous colors is RIGHT HERE.

BTW, we'll also have Plume - and this sample! - at Booth 19 at Nash Yarn Fest on April 17 and 18!

Lawda Mercy, Restocks!

It seemed like the Big Brown Truck was taking up a permanent spot in our parking lot this week...so many restocks! All Things Berroco got a massive top-up, as did quite a swath of Malabrigo. Even beloved local treasure Camellia FIber Co got a bit of a refill. So if there's a certain color in a certain yarn you've been waiting on, you should certainly check stock! We've linked this week's big restocks below. And a reminder to online shoppers: shipping is free if your merchandise total is $175 or higher!

Experiment with Ply!

Ply's new issue - Issue 52: "Experimental" - is a doozy! This issue is all about - as the title suggests - experimentation, and the contributors have put on their lab coats and safety goggles to examine a range of possibilities with fiber and spinning. It starts with an article on how to design a spinning experiment and ends with one that gives five ideas to experiment with so you can set up your own experiments. (The key word for this issue is, uh, EXPERIMENT).

In between, you’ll find experiments on combing short fibers and carding long fibers (the opposite of the typical prep) and on adding fiber to the intake drum vs the main drum on a drum carder. But do you even need tools to make a great woolen yarn? They cover that too...and so much more! Seriously, there are like one million other things in this issue.

We only have a few copies, so if this kind of thing sounds like your kind of thing, clicky click RIGHT HERE.
