Looking Back: Nash Yarn Fest! Looking Forward: LYS Day!
Well, Nash Yarn Fest 2026 is in our rearview mirror and gosh, y'all, that was just a smashing time! Thank all of you who stopped by the booth, visited us in-store, shopped online...or just wished us well. And thanks to the folks at Modern Daily Knitting for putting on this show. NYF went smooth as silk, was professionally mounted from top to bottom -- and was full of friends, both old and new. We loved every second of it.
NYF was over for like one minute before we came to our senses and remembered it was already LYS Day time! So settle in, because now we're gonna tell you all about that.
Local Yarn Store Day is this Saturday, April 25. Join us here at Haus for the annual celebration of all things local and yarny! LYS Day is a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and community. It’s a day dedicated to the small businesses that bring fiber enthusiasts together, offering unique yarns, expert advice, and a welcoming space to learn and share. Whether you’re a knitter, crocheter, weaver, or just starting your fiber journey, LYS Day is your chance to connect with others who share your love of yarn. Visit us or - if you're far-flung - your own LYS and feel the love!

LYS Day Goodies: From A to Zinnia
Haus will be celebrating LYS Day in what has become its traditional way. All orders starting now and lasting through LYS Day (or as long as supplies last) will include a packet of zinnia seeds for you to plant; grow your own bouquet along with us! The yearly zinnia giveaway has a long and storied Haus history and we're thrilled to keep it alive.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! On Saturday - LYS Day itself! - we'll also be giving away lovely little sets of floral-themed stitch stoppers with every in-store purchase ... also while supplies last!

LYS Goodies, Part 2: Modus Operandi's Zinnia Colorways
Maintaining another Haus tradition, master natural dyer and color wizard Rin from MoFibers has gotten swept up in our LYS Day Zinniamania once again. Her 2025 LYS Day installments are naturally dyed using zinnias from Meg's garden and marigolds and cosmos from her own...you can't get more local than that!
There are four to choose from:
Zinnia Dawn on Lace Mohair or Silky Fingering
-- Lace Mohair: 64% Kid Mohair, 36% Silk | 459 yds
--Silky Fingering: 70% Superwash Merino Wool, 30% Silk | 438 yds
Zinnia Dusk on on naturally grey Yak Fingering and Lace Yak
-- Yak Lace: 42% Baby Alpaca, 35% Silk, 13% Non-Superwash Merino Wool, 10% Yak | 437yds
-- Single-ply fingering: 65% Superwash Merino, 20% Silk, 15% Yak | 523 yds
We've got two fresh-off-the-needles samples that highlight all the bases in both colorways! Both are two-skein projects (one fingering, one lace)...minimum investment, maximum luxury!
Our version of Veronika Lindberg's In My Stripes Era scarf (above left) is worked up in alternating stripes (of the two Zinnia Dawn yarns) with simple increases as you progress. The end result is as light as a feather and almost too soft to believe. Grab the pattern HERE.
Haus's own Kendall Bock worked up a fresh sample of her own Spring Drizzle Kerchief (above right, in Zinnia Dusk), which also uses one each of MoFibers' fingering and lace. We adore this bandana-style kerchief that features delicate, vertical rows of eyelets. It's so easy to wear with no-fuss styling. The pattern is HERE.

"Twice Sheared Sheep Trunk Show": Say it Five Times Fast!)
In an astonishing coincidence (not really, we planned it), we've also got an LYS Day trunk show on loan from our friends at Twice Sheared Sheep. Loads of gadgets and geegaws! We're big fans of their gauge swatch thingie and sock ruler, but now we've got like fifty other of their things too - seriously, like fifty. Ranging from stitch markers to cute lil' zippered bags to yarn carousels, TSS has your notions needs covered. Definitely take a look at everything trunk-show-related RIGHT HERE while it's all still in-Haus!

The Great Tennessee Yarn Tour: 2026 Edition!
The Great Tennessee Yarn Tour is in its third year and Haus is happy to be included on the tour schedule this year! The GTYT happens over the entire month of August and is a great opportunity for fiber enthusiasts of all stripes to visit LYSs across the state - there are twenty-one stops on the tour this time around! There are prizes and specials and each shop will have special mini-skeins available only to Tourists; minis make for great souvenirs! Haus is alsoworking on a super-special (but still under wraps) trunk show that'll be in-store for the entire month of August, so keep your eyes peeled for more info on that.
Tickets for the Great Tennessee Yarn Tour must be purchased in advance; they're available now through June 1 and you can grab yours RIGHT HERE. Definitely click that "How to Tour" link under Tour Details to see how it all works! This is a great event, and if you can do it with a gaggle of friends, it's even better!
