Qori!
We're always excited when we get to tell you about a new yarn! So here we are, positively vibrating with excitement as we introduce you to Qori from the folks at Mirasol.
Qori, (it means “treasure” in Quechuan) is a yarn that feels as special as its name suggests. It's a sport weight blend that combines organic cotton, South American Merino and a hint of cashmere, creating a balance of softness, breathability, and gentle elasticity. The resulting fabric is light and comfortable against the skin with a refined finish. It’s an ideal choice for garments that move effortlessly between seasons. Qori’s clean stitch definition makes it especially well-suited for textured patterns, lace, and everyday wardrobe pieces with a polished look.
Speaking of! We love these two new patterns written specifically for Qori:
The Chambira Tank
Chambira continues our love affair with summer tanks and tees (see all nine million in-store samples!). Worked up with just two or three skeins of Qori (see chart for specifics), this one is a real bargain, and you can knock one out in no time! The Chambria pattern is entirely charted, so if charts aren't your thing, this one is definitely not for you! You gotta put that wine down and the TV on mute for just a minute.
The Maracuya V-Neck Tee
This quite keen v-neck is also easy on the pocketbook (see chart above!) and we absolutely love that long loopy detail dealie, which is made by wrapping the yarn five times around the needle before knitting the next stitch. We love a little easy tricksy thing with maximum impact! Maracuya pattern is NOT charted but written in row by row format, so if charts aren't your thing, this one is for you!
We have a few free printed copies of both of these patterns; buy two or three skeins of Qori and we'll pop one in your package (while supplies last). Do specify in the order notes which one you're after.
You can find the digital version of Chambira RIGHT HERE and Maracuya RIGHT HERE. You'll find eight gorgeous shades of Qori RIGHT HERE.

One Ball of Alpaca Sparkle = One Alpaca Sparkle Cowl!
We recently topped off our stock of Rowan's Alpaca Sparkle, an Aran weight yarn made up of poly, alpaca, wool and cotton. Each of the five shades features (quite difficult to photograph) identically-colored sequins dispersed throughout, which lends a subtle sparkle to almost any project. This yarn is great for shawls and scarves - and with that in mind, Meg worked up a quick in-Haus cowl pattern for it. Grab a single ball of Alpaca Sparkle (just one? Yes!) and we'll include a printed copy of her Alpaca Sparkle Cowl pattern gratis.
The Alpaca Sparkle Cowl is a quick triangle that achieves its ultimate size quickly thanks to twinned increases on every other row; you'll be done before you know it! Meg added a little button rather than seam it; simply slip the button through the fairly loose fabric to secure the cowl and you're all set,
Find Alpaca Sparkle RIGHT HERE. You'll need just one ball - plus some US10s. We've got eight billion needle options.
