First Up: Class Up Your Summer!

Early word-of-mouth occasionally means that a specific project-themed class might fill up before we can even get it in the newsletter or online, but the onslaught of Everyone's Summer Plans means a few spots are currently available in two different upcoming classes that Alison is offering: Ankers Summer Shirt and Tolsta! We're recommending Sandnes Garn's Line for both of these; it's a dreamy summer worsted cotton/viscose/linen blend that's ideal for both of these and it's pretty easy on the pocketbook as well. Keep on reading to get all the details for these almost-secret classes and then call the store at 615-354-1007 if you'd like to schedule.

Class: The Ankers Summer Shirt

A classic addition to your summer wardrobe, the Ankers Summer Shirt has a spectacular gorgeous yoke detail that steps it up from a plain tee. We love its simplicity and elegance and...well, let's just put it in bold letters: other than weaving in the ends, there's absolutely no finishing!

Alison is offering this $85 four-session class on the following dates:

     • Saturday, June 6th from 10-Noon
     • Saturday, June 20 from 10-Noon
     • Friday, July 3 from 10-Noon
     • Saturday, July 18 from 10-Noon

Please note that these class days jump around a lil' bit, so definitely pay close attention! and check your schedule!

Class: The Tolsta Tee

The Tolsta Tee is a loosey-goosey, make-your-own-adventure sort of project. Solids? Stripes? A little floral motif? SURE, whatever! This basic tee pattern holds steady throughout, but there's all sorts of wiggle room for you to zhuzh it up to match your personality. This $85 class also meets four times:

     • Saturday 6/13 from 10-Noon
     • Saturday 6/27 from Noon-2
     • Saturday 7/11 from Noon-2
     • Saturday 7/25 from Noon-2

Please note that the first session begins at 10am; the following three begin at noon.  Also note that there is another, sold-out set of dates for this class. If you're already signed up for that one, you're all set!

New from Noro: Mebuki

Noro's brand-new Mebuki (the Japanese expression for “the quiet budding of new life”) captures the gentle renewal of spring. A thoughtful blend of silk, wool, and viscose brings together soft luster, light warmth, and an airy, organic texture. It's perfect for transitional and warm-weather wear. Noro’s famous skill with color is on full display, shifting effortlessly from hue to hue as you progress. The fabric feels fluid, luminous, and alive with movement.

With its generous 150-gram ball and over 490 yards, Mebuki offers exceptional value and versatility, making it ideal for lightweight garments and layering pieces that carry you beautifully through the season. And speaking of...

We love it for Novice, a simple sleeveless top with virtually no shaping required; you'll whiz through this one. It's got a great little bit of flattering eyelet lace at the top that will fool a lot of people into thinking you know how to do all sorts of fancy things!

The pattern is RIGHT HERE. If you'd like a glossy printed copy, it also appears in Issue 28 of Noro Magazine, available RIGHT HERE.

You can find Mebuki in six different colorways RIGHT HERE. Refer to the chart above for size and yardage guidance if you're gonna tackle a Novice.

This Just In (Literally!)

After a little pause, we've brought Malabrigo's Mechita and Arroyo back into the Haus. If you love their Rios (and everyone does!) but wish you could get the same vibe in a lighter gauge, these are the answers to your wishes! And with over 30 colors of both Mechita and Arroyo in stock, we've got plenty to choose from regardless of which gauge you're on the hunt for.

Mechita
Mechita is a superwash fingering weight yarn that's ideal for lighter projects such as shawls, scarves, and youth garments....just about anything you wanna make out of fingering weight yarn is going to get quite a glow-up when you make it out of Mechita. Lace, cables and stitches really come alive with this one! 420 yds/100g per skein. You can find Mechita RIGHT HERE.

Arroyo
Did you read all that and say "great, fine, but what I really want is a DK/Sport-weight version...?" Oh, we knew you would.  Arroyo is a soft and sturdy sport-to-DK-weight that's a longtime favorite of knitters and crocheters alike. It’s perfect for everyday lightweight garments that provide just a bit of extra warmth - think over air-conditioned movie theaters and restaurants! Made up of the same great superwash Merino wool as Rios and Mechita, Arroyo comes in at 335 yds/100g per skein . You can find it RIGHT HERE.
