The Eternal Needle Case Problem: SOLVED AT LAST

Sometimes we think the biggest mystery in the knitting  world is...why can't anyone get a needle case right? So many attempts...so close! But not quiiiite right, right?

Well...we think the folks at Aunt Shelle have finally cracked it! Their suede or canvas zippered needle cases have a whopping pre-labeled 64 needle slots (along with over a dozen additional unlabeled ones for extras), but the features are almost endless. Zips, zags, pockets, pouches, secret doorways to other worlds...the list goes on and on.

There are three different exteriors -blue suede, brown canvas and polka dot canvas - but the innards are the same across all three. Check out the list of features below and then sit down bathed in relief that The Great Needle Case Mystery has finally been solved!

• Blue suede, brown cotton canvas or dotted cotton canvas exterior; cotton interior with poly taping
• 64 (!) labeled needle slots, sizes 2.00 mm (US 2) - 10.00 mm (US 15), fitting 2", 3", 4" and 5" needles
• 14 additional unlabeled slots for extra needles, DPNs, crochet hooks, etc.
• 3 zipper pockets to hold cables, notions, and tools
• 2 mesh zipper pockets
• 4 accordion slots to hold fixed circular needle

These needle cases are a verrrry brief pre-order. They're due here at the store on Wednesday and will be ready for pickup or shipping first thing Thursday morning! If you order anything else at the same time, it'll all ship together with your needle case.

All-New Etesia! Plus: The Breza Top

We are absolute nuts for a new yarn that arrived this week! Etesia, from the folks at legendary Urth Yarns, is a DK weight blend of cotton and linen that brings a crisp structure and effortless drape to warm-weather projects. Light yet durable, it softens beautifully with wear, making it perfect for transitional garments and layering. Etesia is dyed in a sun-washed palette complimented with a few brighter notes.

Urth is launching it with an accompanying pattern called The Breza Top (though they might as well have called it CATNIP, because Meg does love a tank) that's a perfect showpiece for Etesia's summery-er qualities!  It's a breezy sleeveless top with a classic fit and a slightly cropped silhouette with some lovely little minimalist rolled edge details. It's a lovely basic worked up in just about any color; definitely take a look at other logged Brezas at Ravelry to get some ideas!

Pompoms!

It's always fun to open a box of pompoms! They might as well be kittens; we coo and swoon and pet them all. And we've got a wall full of them now, so now is the time when we talk about hats with pompoms!

The Cabled Hat (a free pattern at Ravelry) is a perfect project for pom-topping! Knit from a single skein of Camellia Fiber Co's luxurious Yak DK, it's a lovely classic cabled showpiece. You can find Yak DK RIGHT HERE.

If you'd like a chunkier cabled hat (it's a faster knit!), take a look at Thorpeness, which takes two balls of Rowan Mode Chunky Wool (available HERE).
