Uneek Mini Sock Kits

New in the Haus this week are these colorful Uneek kid-sized sock sets from Urth. These self-striping kits are based on Uneek's most popular adult-sized colorways...only scaled down to adorable-sized! There's a sock pattern included (it's a QR-code, so get out your phone) that'll have you working these up in no time.

These sock kits are also suited for lightweight self-striping accessories and garments for all age ranges; the self-striping willl have different results.

The Uneek Minis are vailable in a half-dozen colorways. Find yours RIGHT HERE (and if you're on the hunt for adult socks, HEAD HERE).

The Shadow Life Shawl in Uneek DK

Also fresh on the shelves this week: a half dozen hand-painted colorways of Uneek DK, an extrafine superwash Merino that's perfect for shoulder-season wraps and shawls! We love it for the Shadow Life Shawl, an almost magical example of illusion knitting. Don't be intimidated; while it looks like a lot work, illusion knitting is simply alteranating rows of knits and purls in two different colors that looks one way when you look at it head on...but when you look at it at an angle: voila! The Shadow Life Shawl is rated "easy," so you have no reason to not tackle it!

We knit ours up in one skein each of Uneek DK and Urth's Harvest DK. You can find those HEREand HERE. You do need that solid skein of Harvest DK for the illusion to work. You can find the pattern RIGHT HERE.

Curious about Machine Knitting?

There's an exciting series of machine knitting classes being offered at Make Nashville, a maker space in East Nashville. You'll learn the basics of flatbed machine knitting, and will make three or more projects during this six-week workshop.

Your instructor, Anna Haferman, has been machine knitting for many years and is a founding member of the Nashville Machine Knitters group. And she's YouTube famous (!!!); her popular YouTube channel features machine knitting tutorials on flatbed knitting machines.

Class begins September 16th (2026) and knitting machines will be provided for use in class. Interested? Grab a class ticket HERE
