What Would Dolly Do on Dolly Day? Donate!
This Friday - 9/25 (get it?) - the whole city of Nashville plans to honor the late, great Dolly Parton on "Dolly Day."
Buildings and bridges will be lit up in Dolly-pink. At 5pm, just about every music venue in town will play her "9 to 5." Same song, same time. Then, at 9:25 that night, the city plans on a fireworks show. Seriously, y'all: there is a LOT going on. And while there are many ways to participate in honoring and extending Dolly's legacy, here's our plan — which encourages you to participate whether you're a Nashvillian or not:
If you'll make a donation between NOW and 5pm on Friday (9/25/26) to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, Haus of Yarn will match it dollar-for-dollar (up to a thousand dollars total). As a thank-you, we'll send you a free digital version of the Haus-designed "Nashville Hat" pattern!
Here's how it works:
- Simply make a donation (in any amount - but $9.25 seems about right!) to the Imagination Library via THIS LINK .
- Screenshot the donation email confirmation and send that screenshot to the following email address: hauslovesdolly@gmail.com (you can just screenshot the bottom portion of your confirmation email - we need the part that shows your donation amount)
- Sit back and wait just a bit and your digital pattern will show up in your in-box as soon as we can get to it (it's not automated; we gotta send 'em one by one!)
We'll add your total to the running amount and make our matching donation just after 5pm on 9/25 and announce it via our @hausofyarntn Instagram feed!

Softest Alpaca, Chapter 1: Sasha Wrap
This week's newsletter leans hard on Mode at Rowan's Softest Alpaca. Softest Alpaca is a splendid blend of alpaca and Merino, selectively sourced with care from the Andean Highlands, plus a bit of polymide for durability thrown in. This yarn is as light as a feather with a fluffy brushed texture, making it perfect for both simple and complex stitches. One of the things we love about it is how versatile it is. It works across a wide swath of projects: wraps, sweaters, scarves. As you're about to see...
The luscious Sasha Wrap is a super-simple, beginner-friendly swath of stockinette (with wide garter stripes) that's little more than a rectangle folded in half and secured with a statement button If you've been saving a special solo or orphaned button for just the right project, we think Sasha might be it; we also have a billion buttons in-store for you to peruse if you find yourself sadly buttonless). Get started today and this bulky-gauged project will be finished up long before we get very far into Fall.
Sasha is written for two different finished sizes, but both need just four balls of Softest Alpaca, which brings the finished garment in under the fifty-dollar mark! It's a lot of look for very little, folks.

Softest Alpaca, Chapter 2: The Bury Vest
Now y'all know Meg loves a vest. Straight from the "closet staples" department: layer this classic Bury vest with a crisp shirt or a basic tee for an on-trend look. The simplicity of the stockinette stitch is offset by 2x2 ribbed edging and a folded crew-neck band. This one is a good old-fashioned bottom-up, knit-flat job that you can turn around in no time!

Softest Alpaca, Chapter 3: The Rosin Neckerchief
And lastly, a terrific brand new pattern from Rowan written especially for Softest Alpaca: the Rowan Neckerchief. This one-skein project results in a featherweight, generously-sized neckerchief with enough length (almost 39") to wrap and tie and show off the yarnover-derived lace on the ends! It's actually a great early-knitter pattern - an ideal project for perfecting your yarnover and increase/decrease skills.

New Class Alert: Learn Brioche!
There's a new class on the books that starts in mid November — so read on, check the dates, and give us a call at the shop (615 354-1007) to book your spot. This will fill quickly - we get a lot of requests for it! - so don't dilly-dally.
Learn the ins and outs of (and take all of the fear out of learning to) brioche! Your instructor Kendall removes the intimidation factor that seems to accompany learning brioche and you'll master it in no time...and end up with an absolutely show-stopping BrioCherry hat. Plus: a skill that you can revisit again and again.
