Log Cabin Cloths
Have you seen the newest Mason-Dixon Field Knitting Guide No. 4? Warning: you'll want to knit everything in it! We started with the Log Cabin Cloths, a pattern with six designs that introduce you to the fundamentals of log cabin construction. We knit four cloths from just three skeins of Rowan Handknit Cotton (pictured here in Sunshine, White and Gravel), and with 21 colors in stock, we're sure you can find a combination that'll be perfect. Knit 'em for yourself or a house-warming gift or even an adorable baby shower gift. They. Are. Addictive.
The Haus of Yarn Yearlong Knitalong: September Edition!!
Join us in the store next Monday, September 11th, at 11:00 am as we kick off the next installment of the Yearlong Knitalong! This time around, we'll be working on the Laurus Hat! In three sizes and two heights — slouchy and fitted — Laurus is a simple, stylish, unisex beanie with a striped brim and moderate amount of colorwork.
Not interested in making the hat? You can still join the Yearlong Knitalong with an afghan block pattern from the Haus of Yarn Block-a-Month Afghan book. The Block-a-month Knitalong meets at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 11th.
Remember: attendance for Knitalong Mondays is always free! As a genuine 'thank you!' for your participation, all materials purchased at Haus of Yarn that relate directly to each month's knitalong will qualify for double stamps on our Haus of Yarn Reward Card. DOUBLE STAMPS! We really do appreciate your participation and want to encourage as many of you to make as many of the monthly projects as possible. Earning double stamps will make it that much easier!
Not local? No worries! Join the Yearlong Knitalong virtually. Click here to join our Ravelry group and come knit along with us!
We'd love to see your projects! In process or completed...if you're on Instagram, join in anytime with #yearlongknitalong and #hausofyarntn.
Fixing Mistakes!
Let's face it: we ALL make mistakes when we knit. We drop a stitch or forget a yarnover and don't see it until the next row...and sometimes we're not quiiiite sure how to fix it! If this sounds a little too familiar to you, you need to take Sue's class! Saturday, September 23rd, 11am - 1pm, $45. Call the shop to register! 615-354-1007
*There's homework required for this one, you'll find the details here.
