Local Yarn Shawl  Casapinka 2

Get This On Your Needles: Local Yarn Shawl!

A huge "thank you!" to everyone who came into the shop this past Saturday - the inaugural Local Yarn Store Day was so much fun! We were slingin' yarn from the moment we opened the doors right up until closing time. The crowd favorite - hands down - was the Local Yarn Shawl designed by Casapinka especially for the day! The pattern includes two sizes: small can be knit with 560 yards of fingering weight yarn and large with 700. The shawl is boomerang-shaped, with simple lace, textured, eyelet and mesh stitches; it's great for beginners and experienced knitters alike. Take a look on Ravelry at the completed projects for some inspiration. Single color versions, two color versions, gradient versions...there's no end to the variations. We knit the large with two skeins of Old Rusted Chair sock yarn in Horizon for our sample.

Middle Tennessee Fiber Festival

Save the Date: Middle TN Fiber Fest

The Middle Tennessee Fiber Festival is right around the corner! Located in Dickson, TN, at the Dickson County Fairgrounds on May 25th and 26th, it'll be open that Friday from 12-6 and Saturday from 9-5. We love the local flavor of this festival, now in its eleventh year (and the chicken salad in the concession stand has always been terrific). We'll be there in the Yarn Bus, along with loads of other vendors! Shop around! Take a class! See you there!?

Fixing Mistakes

Fixing Mistakes!

Let's face it: we ALL make mistakes when we knit. We drop a stitch or forget a yarnover and don't see it until the next row...and sometimes we're not quiiiite sure how to fix it! If this sounds a little too familiar to you, you need to take Sue's class! If you take just ONE class this year...we think this one is THE ONE! It's a super-empowering feeling when you make a mistake but you know you can, in fact, fix it!

Saturday, April 28th from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, $35. Call the shop to register! 615-354-1007

*There's homework required for this one, you'll find the details here.
