Fresh Off Our Needles: A Spring and Summer Favorite!
Our love affair with the Easy Folded Poncho continues, and this color-blocked version in Sunset from Katia is our newest favorite! Blocks of color hang at a flattering angle, and the fabric is absolutely gorgeous - a lusciously soft cotton yarn with a hint of sparkle. That's right: sparkle! Look closely and you'll see just a hint of bling; this cotton yarn is pre-strung with clear glass beads. We've got two kit options - the sample is knit in Rose, and there's also Grey. Each kit contains one each of three colors of Sunset Katia for a total of 1524 yards.
Haus of Yarn Yearlong Knitalong: May Edition!!
Join us in the store today - Monday, May 7th - at 11:00 am for May's Yearlong Knitalong project! This time around, we'll be working on the Bateaux Mouches scarf. This scarf is the epitome of easy! There's only one row to remember and the lace-weight yarn (held double) knits up quickly into the squishiest garter stitch! Our sample is worked with Isager Alpaca 1 held double with Findley Dappled, a combo that creates the most beautiful marled fabric! You'll need two skeins of Alpaca 1 (we used the color called 2s) and one skein of Findley Dappled (color: 122 Arcadia) to complete the project. Want a printed version of the pattern? It's available here!
Not interested in making Bateaux Mouches? You can still join the Yearlong Knitalong with an afghan block pattern from the Haus of Yarn Block-a-Month Afghan book. The Block-a-Month Knitalong meets today - Monday, May 7th - at 1:00 pm on Remember: attendance for Knitalong Mondays is always free! As a genuine 'thank you!' for your participation, all materials purchased at Haus of Yarn that relate directly to each month's knitalong will qualify for double stamps on our Haus of Yarn Reward Card. DOUBLE STAMPS! We really do appreciate your participation and want to encourage as many of you to make as many of the monthly projects as possible. Earning double stamps will make it that much easier!

Yay! Another Brooklyn Tweed Trunk Show!
Don't forget: we've got a fantastic Brooklyn Tweed trunk show on display now - It's a gorgeous mix of scarves and sweaters by Jared Flood, all using BT's signature Shelter or Loft (we've got the entire BT spectrum of both in stock). We're particularly taken with these four sweaters (clockwise from upper left): Agnes, Breton, Hawser and Corvid. As usual with Flood's designs, the beauty is in the details -- we've got this batch until the 20th... don't miss it!
Save the Date: Middle TN Fiber Fest
The Middle Tennessee Fiber Festival is right around the corner! Located in Dickson, TN, at the Dickson County Fairgrounds on May 25th and 26th, it'll be open that Friday from 12-6 and Saturday from 9-5. We love the local flavor of this festival, now in its eleventh year (and the chicken salad in the concession stand has always been terrific). We'll be there in the Yarn Bus, along with loads of other vendors! Shop around! Take a class! See you there!?
Fixing Mistakes!
Let's face it: we ALL make mistakes when we knit. We drop a stitch or forget a yarnover and don't see it until the next row...and sometimes we're not quiiiite sure how to fix it! If this sounds a little too familiar to you, you need to take Sue's class! If you take just ONE class this year...we think this one is THE ONE! It's a super-empowering feeling when you make a mistake but you know you can, in fact, fix it!
Saturday, June 2nd from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, $35. Call the shop to register! 615-354-1007

We used two skeins of West Yorkshire Spinners Aire Valley Aran (in Natural and Rum Paradise) for our sample.
But Wait! There Are Even MORE Classes!
