Edelweiss, Edelweiss...

We've just added a terrific new DK sock yarn to our lineup: Edelweiss (yes, you'll now be singing it all day, you're welcome. Also: Team Baroness!).

Edelweiss Alpaca 6-Ply delivers strength, plush softness, and effortless care. Spun in Italy using fine South American wool and alpaca (with some acrylic added for strength), this DK sock yarn offers exceptional durability without sacrificing warmth or comfort. Each 135-yard ball provides excellent stitch definition and is a great choice for for textured patterns, colorwork, and everyday wearables. We especially love it for socks, baby items and - thinking outside the box a little - Doodles

It's perfect for Summer Lee's Hibernal sock pattern. Hibernal is a thick, squishy textured sock worked cuff-down with an easy-to-memorize mock cable ribbed pattern! You can find that pattern RIGHT HERE.

You can find nearly 20 shades of Edelweiss RIGHT HERE. You'll need two balls of Edelweiss for a pair of Hibernal socks.

Time for Tilly...in Two Different Yarns!

Spring and summer sweater inspirations are top-of-mind right now, and - based on recent in-store questions - are definitely topping your lists of next-up makes!

Last week, we told you about the Moon Set Tee. About five hundred of you got inspired by it (though the Knitting for Olive Pure Silk wall is still a well-stocked land of plenty!)...but have you knit yourself a Tilly yet? We've made about five of them!

Tilly is a simple top with some lovely simple lace detail, knit in the round from the top down. A few short rows are worked across the upper back for slight shaping. That top down business allows you to to try it on as you knit, which helps determine the length that suits your personal preference best! Knit at a loose gauge, we love it because it works up quickly and is a great layering piece. Sizing ranges from a 50" to a 71 1/2" circumference; it's intended to be worn with a little swing, so you'll want to choose a size that measures at least 10" larger than what you measure at your fullest bust measurement.

Ours is worked up in Eco Twist, a rayon, cotton and linen blend that's practically designed for a summer top! It's a charming, colorful variegated yarn that goes great with jeans...but it dresses up just fine as well! Refer to the size chart above for sizing and yardage info. You can find Eco Twist RIGHT HERE.

The photo above also features a Tilly in Elsebeth Lavold's Silky Wool. If you prefer a solid over a multi-colored option, Silky Wool's wool/silk/nylon blend offers the drape of Eco Twist but the ultimate result is a bit more muted than Eco Twist's variegated version. You do you! Yardage for the Eco Twist option is figured out for you on that same chart above. You can find Silky Wool RIGHT HERE.

Who's Got the Fever for the Flavor of a Festival?

Middle Tennessee is lucky enough to have not one but two exciting yarn and fiber festivals to cap off the winter and kick off spring this year. Keep reading and have your calendar-marking pen handy!

Middle Tennessee Fiber Festival at The Dickson County Fairgrounds

We've been longtime fans of the Middle Tennessee Fiber Festival, which pops up at the Dickson County Fairgrounds on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28. We took the late, great Yarn Bus out there a couple of times and had a wonderful time vending. This festival has a lovely local flair, with a full slate of workshops, 50+ vendors and tons of charm!

Admission is free; more details (as well as the complete list of vendors) can be found right here.

Nash Yarn Fest at The Fairgrounds Nashville

Also on the calendar: Nash Yarn Fest. This year, it's a two-day wingding (Friday, April 17 + Saturday, April 18)...with an added hootenanny (we were determined to use those two descriptors in a sentence). You can find out allllll the details (and find ticket info) RIGHT HERE. There's a vendor list as well - and there's not a dud in the bunch! All winners!

Haus will be vending at Nash Yarn Fest; we're in the same spot as last year (Booth #19)...now with double the booth space! They're moving the main entrance around this year, so if you're trying to find us, just refer to the giant map they'll be handing out...or just remember last year but backwards.

See you at one or the other...or both!
