Your Dolly Donations: WOWZA!

We were blown away by the response to our Dolly Day / Imagination Library matching donation challenge! We made our own $1000 donation last Friday at 5pm, which brought the total to $2535...which will fund so many books getting in kids' hands! Thanks to everyone who donated! While the matching challenge has ended, we still encourage you to donate to Dolly's Imagination Library whenever the mood strikes you!

Hello, Fall: The Netta Top!

Just in time for the first blush of Fall...take a look at this gorgeous thing! The Netta Top is a delicate laceweight tank featuring a leafy lace motif. It can be worn on its own or as a layering piece. It's designed to be worked in either a mohair/silk yarn held double or a DK-weight yarn held single.

This is a super well-written pattern that also includes instructions for adjusting the length and armhole depth to suit your preference. The pattern includes lace knitting, different types of decreases, working flat and in the round, German short rows, and an I-cord bind-off. But look! There are video tutorials to help you with new stitches and techniques, and all charts are accompanied by written instructions.

Our great friend Lisa made a sample using the double-mohair suggestion (come see it in the shop!). And you know we have a lot of Mohair options up in here; Knitting for Olive's Soft Silk Mohair, Sandnes Garn's Tynn Silk Mohair and Urth Yarns' brand new Bonmoher (which, at 40%, has the highest silk content of any mohair blend we've seen) are all fantastic options...and with a combined total of more than 75 different colors, surely one has your name on it! (And we didn't even bring up Malabrigo Mohair or any of the local dye-er options!)

Fresh From the Forest: Funny Fall!

Speaking of leaves...here's an adorable collection of autumnal amigurumi projects. From snails to squirrels to acorns and hedgehogs, practically the whole Fall forest is represented. We particularly love this garland made up of morels and autumn leaves. Grab the yarn in the photo and the Funny Fall booklet and you can knock one out in no time. Queue up your favorite BritBox mystery series and get to work; you'll be finished with a garland before you find out the butler didn't do it!

Jewelspun: Back on the Shelf in Full Force!

Block-a-Month Knitalong Reminder: October!

If you're Block-a-Monthing, just a quick reminder that October's in-store meetup is next Monday (October 5) at 11am right here up in the Haus! If you need the lowdown on what all of that means, check the lead story in Newsletter 910 (you can find that RIGHT HERE). Even if you missed that info the first time around, you haven't missed out on the KAL. This is a yearlong project. You can jump in at any time and catch up (or not, it doesn't matter!) at your own speed.

October's block is Block 10: Picket Fences. More knits and purls! Hooray! Entering the final stretch at last!

The majority of knitalongers so far are using Plymouth Worsted Merino Superwash, but remember: any worsted yarn you want to use is the right answer! Some folks are working it up in Ultra Alpaca, some in Knitting for Olive's Heavy Merino. Just remember: you need about 200 yards for each block.
