Yearlong Knitalong: March!

Join us today - Monday, March 4th - from 11:00 am until noon for the March installment of the Haus of Yarn Yearlong Knitalong; we'll be working on the Baby Surprise Jacket!
Elizabeth Zimmermann’s Baby Surprise Jacket has become near-legendary since its conception in 1968, from the newsletter #21. The jacket is knit in a single piece with just two seams that run across the shoulders and down the length of the sleeves. It includes extra ease across the back of the garment to fit well over a nappy (diaper). Individual copies of the pattern are available for purchase at our brick and mortar store - or give us a call to order one, 615-354-1007!

Yarn Suggestions:

We had so much fun knitting our shop sample, we decided to knit three - all in different gauges!

-the blue & white sample is worsted weight Cotton Supreme Batik from Universal Yarns. Two skeins were required.

-the color-blocked sample is sport weight Ewe Ewe So Sporty from Ewe Ewe Yarns. Four skeins - one each of four colors - were required.

-the solid sample is DK weight Summerlite DK from Rowan. Three skeins were required.

For those of you working on (or wanting to start!) a block from our Afghan Block-a -Month Book, we'll be meeting at 1:00 pm today - Monday, March 4th!

Koigu Collector's Club!

The Koigu Collector's Club is a monthly limited edition one-of-a-kind themed colorway of Koigu Painters palette Premium Merino (KPPPM), hand dyed by Taiu Landra, co-owner of Koigu Wool Designs.

Each color way is created exclusively for LYS's that carry Koigu. February's color is VitaminD ~ a mix of mostly sunny yellows with bright pops to help chase away those seasonal winter blues!

We used two skeins for the beyond adorable Barb's Koigu Ruffle scarf pattern.
